Is Announced
Mr. and Mrs. Don G. Booth,
1842 South Peach street, an
nounce the engagement of
their daughter, Carol, to Bill
Bradshaw, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Lester N. Bradshaw,
Little Butte Star route, Box
250. Eagle Point.
Miss Booth was graduated
from Medford High school in
1963. Mr. Bradshaw was grad
uated from Eagle Point High
school in 1958 and is em
ployed at Medford Corpora
tion. No wedding date has been
set.
Carol Slater
Attends Rites
Miss Carol June Slater,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wil
son Slater, 3405 Jacksonville
highway, is in Yuma, Colo.,
where today she is to serve
as maid of honor for Miss
Carol Eyestone who is to be
ma'rried to Roger Records,
Kennewick, Wash.
Miss Slater went by way
of San Francisco and San Ma
teo, Calif, .and in San Mateo
was a guest of Miss Lee Ar
thur. The two are classmates
at Whitworth college, Spo
kane, Wash. The young wom
en then left for the Colorado
city. Miss Arthur also will be
a part of today's wedding
group, serving as a brides
maid. Miss Slater and Miss Arthur
plan to vacation at Lake Ta
hoe for several days on their
return, as guests of Miss
Arthur's mother at her sum
mer home.

meeting held at the Girls
Community club, Mrs. Don
ald C. Johnson and Mrs. Rob
ert Gates. Mrs. Mace Free
land was present for her sec
ond meeting.

Mrs. Henry Miller, and Mrs.

Mrs. Asa Lemon won a spe
cial priie, and bridge prizes
were awarded to Mrs. H. F.
Jenkins and Mrs. E. J. Stude
baker. Pinochle prizes went
to Mrs. Berrill Morey and
Mrs. Lemon, and canasta
prizes to Mrs. Leatha Jones
and Mrs. Earl Melbourn.

Jacksonville-Mr. and Mrs.
Russell Wall, Chula Vista,
Calif., are visiting at the
home of Mr. Wall's mother,
and sister, Mrs. Lula Wall,
and Mrs. Loren Severson,
Route 2, Box 6, Jacksonville.
The Walls are also visit
ing with two brothers, Gil
bert Wall, Talent, and Clin
ton Wall, Ashland.
Mr. Wall is on leave from
North Island, Calif., where
he is stationed with the U. S.
Navy.

Shady Cove - Visiting ' at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Del
bert Spain are Mr. and Mrs.
Dewey Hinton and children,
Cape Girardeau, Mo. Mrs.
Hinton is a sister of Mr. Spain
and Arley Spain, Central
Point. The three families re
cently visited Crater lake and
also held a family picnic at
Diamond lake.

their wedding trip to Lake
Tahoe.
The bride is the former
Miss Mary Lee Clark, a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee
W. Clark, Route 1, Box 452,
Talent, and the bridegroom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Rich
ard E. Fanger, former Med
ford residents, now of Belle
view, Wash.
The nuptial mass was cele
brated July 13 at 12 noon in
Our Lady of the Mountain
Catholic church. The Rev.
William Walsh officiated.
The bride was escorted to
the altar by her father. Her
eown was of nylon organza
with embroidered panels and
fitted bodice. A caplet of
orange blossoms and pearls
held her elbow length illusion
veil with butterfly face veil.
She carried a nosegay of or
chids and stephanotis. The
pearls she wore were a gift
from the bridegroom.

Wears White Gown
The honor attendant's gown
was of white organza over
mint green taffeta. A mint
green satin rose at the waist
matched the rose on her head
piece of net.
The bridesmaids' frocks of
organza over taffeta were of
mint green, also with roses at
the waistline matching their
headpieces. All carried nose
gays of white carnations.
Pamela and Debra Pentow
ski, Ashland, the flower girls,
were dressed in mint green
organza frocks over taffeta
and they carried baskets of
white carnations. They also
had matching green net head
pieces.
Gregory and Mark Clark,
brothers of the bride, were
the ring bearers.
Serving as best man was
Thomas Alley, Medford.
Seating the guests were
Steven Clark, a brother of the
bride; James Ryan, Salem,
and Tom Hamlin, and Wil
liam Goldin, both Medford.
Altar boys were Daniel and
Richard Re, Eugene, cousins
of the bride.
Bouquets of while gladioli
decorated the altar.
Mrs. Elaine Berge was or
ganist. The bride's mother chose
to wear a mint green silk
sheath dress with white ac
cessories and the bridegroom's
mother was dressed in a
royal blue sheath dress of
chiffon over taffeta. Both had
corsages of white roses.
Reception at Hall
Some 200 persons attended
the ceremony and reception
given by the bride's parents
in the Parish hall. White glad
ioli with mint green and
white bows decorated the
room.
Miss Bonnie Thompson,
Phoenix, was in charge of the
guest book. Mrs. Alley and
Miss Annette Davidson served
the cake while the Misses
Mary Howard and Judy Har
per poured the punch. Mrs
Alvin Fellers served the cof
fee. A special guest was a
grandmother of the bride,
Mrs. Knute Stenson, Portland.
Other out-of-town guests were
Jerry Re, uncle of the bride,
and his son, Chris Re, Eu
gene; Mr. and Mrs. Paul At
kins, Mt. Vernon, Wash., un
cle and aunt of the bride
groom; Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Turner and daughter, Debra,
Tacoma, Wash., uncle and
aunt of the bridegroom; W.

The bride was employed
until her marriage at the East
Medford branch of the Ore
gon bank as a teller. She at
tended Ashland schools and
was graduated from Talent
High school.
The bridegroom, who at
tended Medford High school,
also studied at the University
of Oregon and Southern Ore
eon college. He owns the
O. K. Tire store in Tacoma
On August 1 he was commis
sioned a second lieutenant in
the Washington state Nation
al Guard and holds the posi
tion of battalion motor officer.
For the wedding trip the
bride wore an aqua blue dress
with jacket and matching net
hat.

Lighting the candles were
Richard Verstrate, brother of
the bride, and Patrick Roth.
Bride Wears Organia
Mr. Verstrate escorted his
daughter to the altar and
gave her in marriage. The
bride's floor-length gown was
of rayon organza over taffeta,
made with fitted bodice and
long sleeves. The scoop neck
line was defined with appli
ques of Swiss embroidery
trimmed with pearls and iri
descent sequins. The skirt
with controlled fullness was
styled with pleats at the
sides and back. A front panel
was trimmed with Swiss em
broidery and an obi bow
with streamers accented the
back waistline. She carried
a cascade bouquet of white
roses and stephanotis cen
tered with a white orchid.
The attendants wore afternoon-length
frocks of apricot
colored linen-finished silk,
made with fitted bodices and
draped sheath skirls with
back bows. Therr matching
headpieces were large single
roses with bouffant veils.
Both carried arm bouquets of
gladioli, Miss Hcidcmann's in
orange and white, and Mrs.
Maxwell's, all white.
Clyde Fjarli served as best
man and groomsman was
Wayne Fields. Seating guests
were Walter Verstrate Jr.,
a brother of the bride, and
Larry Johnson, a brother of
the bridegroom.
Baskets of orange and
white gladioli decorated the
church.
Mrs. Camden Weller pro
vided the wedding music.
Reception at Home
About 150 guests witnessed
the ceremony and some 100
were at the reception given

Darrell and Barbara Johnson,
nephews and niece of the
bridegroom, Bishop, Calif,
and Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Roth Jr., and family, Bell
flower, Calif.
Parties Given
The bridegroom's parents
were hosts for the rehearsal
dinner and previous to the
wedding a shower was given
for the bride-elect by Mrs.
Lyle Heidemann and daugh
ter, who served as the honor
attendant.
The bride was graduated
from Medford High school in
1961 and attended Southern
Oregon college for a year.
She is a service representative
for Pacific Northwest Bell
company. The bridegroom
1960 graduate of the same
high school is employed by
the Union Oil company in
Medford.
The couple made their
wedding trip to the Oregon
coast. The bride's suit was of
pink linen which she wore
with white accessories.

Thursday, August 1, at the
Central Point home of Dr.
and Mrs. Milton R. Snow.
The Hostetters will leave soon
for Portland where he has
been transferred by the Bu
reau of Land Management.
Sponsors of the party were
members of the Builder's class
of First Methodist church,
Medford. Mr. Hostetter was
class teacher for several years
and the couple have been
members since. Glen Duysen,
class president, presented
them with a silver dish on
which the class name had
been inscribed.
Host couples for the event
were members of the class
executive committee, includ
ing the Duysens, Mr. and Mrs.
Gordon Morris, Mr. and Mrs.
Oliver P. Taylor, and Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Darby. The guests
enjoyed swimming and cro
quet early in the evening.

Jacksonville - Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Lamkins left Friday
for their home in Wichita,
Kan., after being guests for a
week in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Lyle Norman, Route 1,
Box 59K, Jacksonville. Mrs,
Lamkins is a niece of Mrs.
Newman.
The group attended re
hearsals of the Oregon Shake
spearean festival plays, made
numerous side trips in the
valley and also traveled to the
coast visiting at Crescent City,
Calif., and Humbug Mountain
State park.
