A new and exciting musical venture for Oregon - the Peter Britt Gardens festival-opens in Jacksonville today at
4 o'clock and musicians arrived the middle of last week for rehearsals. First here was Director John Trudeau (at left)
Portland, and soon after Peter Christ, solo oboist with the San Diego Symphony orchestra, who will play first chair
oboe in Jacksonville, arrived. Even rehearsals attract an audience, and visitors to the gardens are treated to a free ;
concert. .. " ,;

Miss Martha Wyatt (at left) Miss Oregon for 1962 and a J acksonville resident, is heading the. usher committee for
the festival concerts. One of her helpers will be Miss Joyce Anderson, Central Point. It is suggested that those at
tending the 4 and 8 p.m. concerts wear casual, comfortable clothing and walking shoes, and bring with them
cushions or blankets since most conce rt patrons will be seated on the lawn. !
