Muss Jones received her
degree in home economics

in June.
There have been 36 vol
unteers accepted, according to
Project Director Dr. John
Dart. Miss Jones and Ann T.
Weick of Portland were the
only two from the North
west. A total of 52 applicants will
begin an 11-week training
program at Portland State
College on August 19.
The Turkish government
has requested 46 persons and
extra volunteers will be
trained, Dr. Dart said.

fare fraud payments brought

Man to Medford
by Jackson county sheriff
deputies Friday on a criminal
subpoena and lodged in Jack
son county jail.
Snodgrass was brought here
to testify in the trial of Jack
Allen, 31, charged with bur
glary not in a dwelling.
The two were arrested in
Grants Pass about four
months ago by state polica
and the Jackson county sher
iff's department and ques
tioned on a series of burglar
ies of school buildings in
Washington. Oregon and Cal
ifornia. Allen goes on trial
on the local charge Monday
in circuit court.
Snodgrass, who was charg
ed wilh Allen, bailed out of
Jackson county jail and went
to Baker, where he was sinca
picked up on similar charges,
according to the Jackson
county sheriff's records. Ha
will be returned to Baker af
ter he testifies here.
