College Students Wed;
Now in Cave Junction

Mrs. Leland H. Rosenberg,
whose marriage was a recent
event In St Matthias Episcopal
church here, are living at
Forest lodge motel. They
made their wedding trip to
summer cabin near Redmond,
returning by way of Portland,
Coos Bay and Eugene.
The bride, the former Miss
Arlene Louise Gibbons, is
daughter of Mr. and Mrs
Frank P. Gibbons, and the
bridegroom's parents are Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Rosenberg
all Cave Junction.
The Rev. Albert Saycrs,
Grants Pass officiated for the
June 29 rites read at 10
o'clock in the morning. About
SO guests attended.
Mr. Gibbons gave his
daughter in marriage. Her
floor length gown was of
satin brocade with rounded
neckline and three-quarter
length sleeves. Small bows
trimmed the circular cuffs. A
white rose held her fingertip
veil and she carried a bou
quet of white orchids and
stcphanotis with a white
Bible.

girls were Mellnda, Peggy
and Gayle Rosenberg, sisters
of the bridegroom. Chris
Basham lighted the candles.
The attendants wore pink
gowns similar to the bride's
gown, and carried crescent
shaped bouquets of white or
chids. .
The flower girls' dresses
were of pink shantung also
similar to the one worn by
the bride.
Gordon Lowell, Myrtle
Creek, was best man. Usher
ing was Jerry Gibbons.
A bouquet of mixed flowers
decorated the altar and white
bows were used on the pew
ends.
Mrs. Lester Basham was
organist.
The reception, given by the
bride's parents, was held in
the Parish hall. Mrs. Dollie
Rosenberg, and Mrs. W. C.
Gibbons, grandmothers of the
bridegroom and bride, poured
and Mrs. Harry Showhan, an
aunt of the bride, served the
wedding cake. Mrs. C. O. Hag
gard served punch and Miss
Linda Ellison was in charge
of the guest book.
The bride s mother wore a
green floral print dress with
matching accessories and the
bridegroom's mother was
dressed in a light blue suit.
Both had pink rose corsages.
Both the bride and bride
groom were graduated in
1960 from Illinois Valley High
school and both will be senior
students at Oregon State uni
versity in the fall. The bride
8 majoring In home econom
ics and the bridegroom is
studying business administra
tion.
For the wedding trip the
bride chose a blue and white
striped suit with white acces
sories.

Rogue River - When Miss
Janice Louise Jones became
the bride of Joseph Howard
Cornett in a ceremony held
at Hope Presbyterian church,
heirlooms of the Jones and
William H. Breeding families,
of which the bride is a des
cendant, were used at the re
ception which followed.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Morris M. Jones,
East Evans creek and grand
daughter of Mrs. Robert E.
Breeding, Brookings, who at
tended the riles. The Breed
ing family was one of the
first settlers in this area.
The bridegroom is a son
of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Cor
nett, Grayland, Wash., who
traveled here for the cere
mony.
The Rev. Henry Holsinger,
pastor of the Wimer Com
munity church, officiated at
the double ring ceremony at
tended by 150 relatives and
friends. The evening rites
were held at 8 o'clock June
29.
Baskets of white and lav
ender gladioli, calla-lilies, rho
dodendron and fern decorted
the church and white satin
bows marked the pew ends,
Mrs. Robert R. Gail played
the organ wedding music
Wears Lace
The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, wore a
floor length gown of lace
and tulle over taffeta. It was
fashioned with fitted bodice,
scalloped neckline and long
sleeves. The full tiered skirt
was trimmed with lace. A
cascade of lace ruffles form
ed a panel in back and her
fingertip length veil of silk
illusion was held by a tiara
and lily of the valley. She
carried a nosegay of white
chrysanthemums encircling a
lavender orchid. Her jewel
ry was a solitaire pendant, a
gift from the bridegroom.
Miss Linda Jo Brittson,
Roseburg, was honor attend-
ant. She wore a lavender
brocaded sheath dress with
matching veil h..d by a clus
ter of white rosebuds and li
lacs. She carried a nosegay
of lavendar chrysanthemums.
Cheryl Lynn Schultz was
flower girl for her cousin. She
wore a white lace dress over
lavender taffeta and head
dress similar to the maid of
honor's. She carried a white
basket filled with small lav
ender orchids.
Michael Alves, Brookings
served as best man. Seating
the guests were Robert Jones
and Allen Jones, brothers of
the bride, and Delbert
Schultz, her cousin.
For her daughter's wedding
and reception which followed
Mrs. Jones chose u pale yel
low tissue wool suit with
white accessories. Mrs. Cor
nett wore a rose dress with
matching accessories. Their
corsages were white chrysanthemums.
The reception was held in
Barnett hall at the church.
Mrs. Elvis L. Schultz, assisted
by Miss Markeith Palmerton
cut and served the tiered wed
ding cake. Mrs. Charles B.
Brittson, Roseburg, aunt of
the bride, cut and served a
cake she had baked and dec
orated. Miss Florence Oliver,
assisted by Miss Charlene
Crabousk:, presided at the
punch bowl.

Will Begin New
Study Series
A new study scries for
groups of the Women's fellow
ship of First Christian church
is to begin Tuesday, July 23.
"Church Spires in City Sky
lines" is the topic taken from
the Interdenominational mis
sion study for July through
December.
Purpose of the study is for
recognition by clmrches of the
responsibilities and challenges
presented as city life changes
when persons move to sub
burban areas. Churches in
this country and Canada are
using this study guide.
McCracken group will meet
at 10 a.m., for brunch, with
Mrs. A. W. Denny, 2995 Mad
drona lane and the Wcarc
group will meet at that hour
in the home of Mrs. Frank
Chapman, 1041 West Four
teenth street.
The group which will meet
at 1 p.m., are Clark, Mrs. Jack

for dessert luncheon; Swan

Mr. and Mrs. Gary Coates,
Brookings, honored the new-
lyweds at a reception held
July 6. The couple are mak
ing their home in that city on
Chetco avenue.
The bride attended Rogue
River schools and was grad
uated from Rogue River High
school. He attended schools
in Ocosta, Wash., and served
in the U. S. Navy for six
years. He is employed by
Brookings Plywood plant.

Circles to Meet
White Cross circles of the
First Baptist church will meet
Tuesday, July 23, for Bible
and missionary study followed
by work sessions.
The four day circles will
meet at 10:30 a.m. with those
attending t o take a sack
lunch. Dessert and coffee will
be served by the hostess.
Elizabeth circle meets with

Dom Casciato, leader. Martha,
with their leader, Mrs. Sam

Twenty-seven Camp Fire
Girls from Talent last week
made an overnight hike from
Camp Yaiewahnoah at Wag
ner Creek Forks west of
Talent, to the Talent Irriga
tion company cabin where
they camped.
The next day the group
hiked to McDowell creek
where they had lunch and then
returned by the ditch bank
trail. Later they hiked back
to their camp where they had
dinner prepared by Mrs.
Charles Cory and . Mrs.
Howard Lockwood, who had
stayed with the 10 Bluebird
members also attending the
camp.
Girls on the overnight hike
ranged form 10 to 16 years.
In charge were Mrs. Mae
Lowe, Mrs. Jerry Denham and
Mrs. Ray Burnette.

The bridegroom, who has
been living at Phoenix, is a
son of Mrs. T. R. Bates, Pep,
N.M., and the late Mr. Bates.
While on their trip, the new
ly married couple visited his
mother and also attended a
reunion of the bridegroom's
relatives at La Mesa, Tex.
They now are living at

white carnations on a white
Bible.

honor for her sister and
bridesmaids were the Misses

Lee Saunders, Medford, was
soloist and the Rev. Leo
Wine, organist.
The bride's mother wore a
blue and white print dress
and her corsage was of pink
carnations.

nacle reception room. Pink
and white decorations were
used. Miss Beverly Maynard
registered the guests.
