    Timberwolf Division
Will Be Airlifted
To Training Site
Brig. Gen. William H. Pren
tice, Medford, senior assistant
commander, 104th Division
(Trng), has announced that
beginning at midnight Friday,
and utilizing all types of air
craft, the entire division will
be airlifted to Camp Roberts,
Calif., for its summer training
July 20 to Aug. 3.
He noted that it is seldom
a reserve division is airlifted
for its summer training, but
the 104th Timberwolf has a
more important training as
signment this year than ever
before-it will receive its
trainees four days earlier than
usual and the division must
be completely operational in
one day's time.
The mission of the 104th in
the event of mobilization
would be to train large num
bers of basic recruits in the
basic combat techniques and
advanced individual skills and
to make them combat ready
in the shortest possible time.
Army evaluators have rated
the 104th Division highly and
the purpose of the airlift is a
further test of the division's
state of readiness, according
to General Prentice.
Units of the Timberwolf Di
vision are located throughout
Oregon and Washington, from
the Canadian border to Klam-
