is highlight of the 29th International Air
Show, which opened at Le Bourget airport
Friday. The super-Jet, a joint Anglo-French
project by the British Aircraft corp; and
Sud-Aviation of France, is designed for a
speed of 1,400 m.p.h., fast enough to cross
the Atlantic in 2V4 hours. It got its biggest
boost so far Wednesday when Pan Ameri
can Airways ordered six of the airliners.
Concordes are expected to be put into serv

the Grange with dish towels
in appreciation for the use
of the hall.

CP Spareriba
The meeting for the Cen
tral Point Spareriba 4-H club
was held at the C. A. Adams
home. We had a film strip on
barrows and also had tests on
various parts of pigs.
It was determined that
about 20, 15-gallon grease
barrels were needed for the
forthcoming 4-H fair.
Refreshments were served
by the hostess, Mrs. Adams,
and the meeting was adjourned.
The next meeting will be
held at the home of Reinhold
Boes.

There were six new members

tour trip to the Montague Jun
ior Rodeo. We will camp out
Saturday night, June IS, along
the Klamath river.
Plans also were made for a
camp out June 29 and 30 in
the Evans creek' area. Our
parents and families are in
vited to attend and we will
take our horses.

high point trophy at the Rogue
Saddlelites Fre-Fair at the

Friday reached agreement on
a three-year contract.
However, the company shut
down its big plant here be
cause of a strike by the Inter
national Woodworkers of Am
erica and the Lumber and
Sawmill Workers unions.
Tha machinists union pick
eted the plant for about eight
hours last Saturday after their
contract expired, but called
off its pickets in favor of re
suming negotiations. It has
165 members who work for
the company at Klamath
Falls.
The contract, which is re
troactive through last Satur
day, calls for 8Va cents more
an hour in wages and benefits
for the first year, 5 cents the
second and 2V per cent for
the third year. .
