Commencement and Bacca
: laureate exercises at the Uni-
versity of Oregon will be held
, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 9,
with 1,851 candidates slated
' for advanced and baccalaure
ate degrees.
This year's graduating class
Is slightly under the all-time
record figure of 1,892 set in
June, 1962. The load on the
June ceremony has been eased
' because of summer Com-
mencement, held for the first
time in August, 1962. At that
, time, 400 received degrees. A
similar summer Commence
ment will be held in August.

an accident Thursday.
Driver of the other vehicle
involved in the accident about
2:05 p.m. Thursday at Crater
Lake ave. and Jackson st. was
Justin Meredith Smith Jr., 28,
of 938 Park st.
Smith is municipal court
judge.
When Mull failed to appear
In court, a bench warrant was
issued for his arrest. He was
cited Thursday for failure to
leave information at the scene
of an accident.

Hornbrook - Due to the in
crease in the fire hazard con
dition in the Klamath Nation
al forest, Mrs. George Souza
was among those sent Thurs
day to man lookout stations.
Mrs. Souza has spent several
summers on the China Peak
lookout out of Sciad valley,
along the Klamath river.
