Police Officers
To Attend School
At Withycombe
Two Medford police patrol
men plan to attend a two
week police training school
for new officers conducted by
Oregon state police at Camp
Withycombe. The school starts
today and continues through
June 1.
Attending will be David L.
Wells, who has been with, the
local force for two months,
and Charles W. Eagle, who
has been with the force five
months.
The school's training is un
der the supervision of a com
mittee of the Oregon Associ
ation of City Police Officers.
A member of the committee
is ,Medford Police Detective
Lt. Lyle C. Perkins, who is
now int Washington, D.C., at
tending the FBI National
Academy,
Medford Police L. Jack Mc
Millan will instruct one o the
sessions Monday, May 27, on
case preparation and court
room procedure.
The school consists of two
weeks of intensive training
with instructors from Oregon
state police, FBI, sheriff's and
city police departments and
members of .other federal
agencies and the District At
torney's association are avail
able upon request. .
The city pays $25 per week
per, man at the school for
room and .board.
