Klamath National Forest, a certi

offering is for all of the live and
recently dead (sound sapwood)
timber, marked or designated for
cutting and removal prior to De
cember 1, 1963. .estimated to be
approximately 700 feet b.m. of
ponderosa and Jeffrey pine on
an area embracing about 200 acres
within Section 12, T. 40 N., R. 8
W., M.D.M. In addition, there Is
an unestimated volume of older
dead (unsound sapwood) timber on
the area, the cutting and removal
of which will be required. The
minimum acceptable bid per M
board fet for live and recently
dead timber Is: For ponderosa and
Jeffrey pine $14.35. This includes,
per M board feet, $13.90 for
stumpage (including deposit for
sale area betterment) composed of
a base rate of $3.00 for stumpage
plus an additional $10.90 for
stumpage and required deposit of
$0.43 for slash disposal. The prices
bid for stumpage for live and re
cently dead timber shall be con
sidered as tentative rates subject
to quarterly calendar adjustment
upward or downward by 0.5 of the
difference between the average of
the Western Pine Association lum
ber price indices as calculated by
the Forest Service at the end of
each ! calendar quarter, and the
base indices which are for ponde
rose and Jeffrey pine 82.75. Such
adjustments In the price for
stumpage shall be i applicable to
timber scaled during the calendar
quarter for which the adjustment
is computed. In no event, however,
shall the payment rates for each
quarter be less than the base rates
as stated above. When the adjust
ed rates by species are lower than
the base rates the difference be
tween the total dollar value of
timber cut at adjusted rates and
at base rates will be recorded for
each species. The stumpage rate
for any species will not be in
creased above the base rate until
the subsequent adjusted rates
above base rates for all species,
develop an accumulated total dol
lar value In excess of the total
recorded accumulated difference
f all species. The merchantable
volume of older dead (unsound
sapwood) timber will be paid for
at the following rates for stump
age which will not be subject to
quarterly calendar adjustment or
required deposits. For ponderosa
and Jeffrey pine $3.00 per M feet

CENTRAL POINT DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section l: WHEREAS, the City
Council dii heretofore by ordi
nance declare Its intention to im
prove Grand Avenue from Fourth
Street to Freeman Road in the
City ot Central Point. Oregon, by
the construction of curbs on both
sides and the paving thereof and
to assess the cost thereof upon
each lot or part thereof adjacent
to and benefited by such improve
ment its proportionate share of the
cost of said improvement, and did
fix the time and place for hearing
protests against said improvement
and the assessment of the costs
thereof, as aforesaid, and
WHEREAS, said ordinance was
duly posted and published as re-

WHEREAS, a meeting of the

the purpose of considering any
such protests but no protests were
at such time, or at any time, made
