place at the Benson Hotel,
features as guest speaker
Gerard Picl. editor and pub
lisher of "Scientific Ameri
can, who will speak on "The
Challenge of Science to Free
dom," in the midst of a three-
day conference on "Challenges
to Americans" sponsored by
World Affairs Week.
Formerly science editor of
Life magazine, Picl is the
author of "Science in the
Cause of Man." He is a trustee
of the American Museum of
Natural History, president of
the Salk Institute for Biologi
cal Studies, and a director of
the American Civil Liberties
union.
