Officers said Catherine
Chandler, 47, apparently shot

22-caliber automatic in the
bedroom of the family home
in North Hollywood, while
her husband was at a Los An
geles Dodgers baseball game.
The body was discovered by
a son, ward, 24.
Police quoted the family
as saying Mrs. Chandler had
been despondent recently.
Cause of her despondency was
not disclosed.

ine on the "Lassie" television
show and portrayed a Ver
mont farmer named Ichabod
Adam in the television series
Ichabod" and in a play en
titled "One Smart Apple."
