Achieves
Goal
For the first time since
1954, Jackson County Civic
Music association achieved
its goal ol selling all member
ships available tor the sea
son, during last week's 19b'3
64 drive, association officers
have announced.
Board members have met
to consider further artist se
lections. Mrs. Darell Huson, as
sociation president, presided.
In addition to the two con
certs already scheduled, t lie
Vienna Boys choir and Paris
Chamber orchestra, three
others are planned. These will
be contingent upon schedul
ing and when dales have been
secured, they will be announ
ced, Mrs. John Lusk. drive
chairman has stated.
New membership cards will
be mailed in the fall prior to
the first concert, Mrs. Lusk
added.

the Potpourri sale scheduled April 26 and 27 by volun
teers of the Jackson County chapter, American Red Cross,
will be a revised edition of ihe Red Cross Canteen cook

Among the many items to
be offered during the sale

tion of the Hod Cross Canteen
cook book. The original book
was compiled in 1058 by mem
bers of the canteen as a direct
result of the great demands
for recipes of the dishes pre
pared and served by this
group of volunteers. Two
editions have been completely
sold out, with requests for
copies still being received
from valley residents and Red
Cross chapters throughout the
country! 11 has proven a great
favorite as a gift item, the
staff pointed out.
The new book will contain
the salad, entree and dessert
recipes of ihc curlier edition,
along with many new dishes.

in the original cover designed
by a member of the local high
school Red Cross, Loose-leaf
inserts of the new additions
will be available for persons
already having the cook
booK.
The canteen of the Jackson
County chapter of the Red
Cross, with Mrs. Conro Fiero
as chairman and Mrs. Ernst
Ruegger as cochairman, has
achieved recognition for its
outstanding service. Organ
ized to serve in time of disas
ter, they keep in practice by
participating In all local visits
of the bloodmobile, they
serve luncheon during the
monthly Red Cross board of
directors meetings, are re
sponsible for all food service
during disasters such as the
December 9 flood and have
successfully managed B num
ber of special events like the
Bridge Brunch as the chapter
house last week.

centerpiece was heart-shaped

white daffodils and lavendar
anemone and grape hyacinths.
Games were played with
first prizes going to Mesdames
Ivan Hale, Al Andre and
James Smith. Mrs. Smith is
mother of the bride-elect. Oth
er prizes were awarded to
Mrs. Everett Elrod and Miss
Carol Smith.
Mrs. Ben Nork Jr., assisted
the bride-elect with opening

The unit held two work
shops this year, aside from
scheduled projects which in
cluded mosaic, led by Mrs.
McDonough, and yeast bread,
led by Mrs. Roloff and Mrs.
Wilfred Pearson. '

stallation will be held jointly
with Foots Creek unit al the
home of Mrs. Harry Davis,
Gold Hill.
