By Barbiturates
Greatest single cause of ac
cidental poisoning after aspir
in was barbiturate sedatives,
of which there were 37 cases
during the past year in Ore
goin, according to Dr. Carl
G. Ashley, director of the
maternal and child health sec
tion, state board of health.
His report noted that 27
eases of poisoning from in
secticides occurred. 19 from
tranquilizing drugs, 16 from
analgesics other than aspirin.

Four Vehicles, Pole
involved in Mishap

ased in an accident Monday
morning at Eighth and Grac
sis., according ta Medford cWy
police.
One driver, Carl Wall-ae
McMillan, 56, of 705 Table
Reck rd.. was treated for a
head laceration at Rogue Val
ley hospital and released.
Investigating officers said
the accident occurred about
8:5a a.m. as a vehicle operat
ed by Melvin Nelson Hogan,
74. oi 1512 East Main St.. are-j
ceeded into the intersection
of Eighth and Graeme sts. with
out stopping.
The Hogan car collided
with the McMillan vehicle,
knocking McMiliaa out of the i
driver's seat. Driveless, tte
McMillan vehicle continMed
through the intersection, strisk-'
ing two parked ears on North
Gratie st. and fiwlly coming
to stop against Us traffic pale,
police said.
The parked cas were reg-;
istered to John J. and Suzanne
II. Jensen, 522 South Oak
date ave., and Ernest M. and
Lottie F. Bush, 701 North
Riverside ave. Hogan was cit
ed for disobeying a traM'ic
sigaei.
