Good Colors Used
In Home Planning
Gone are the days of dull
bedroom furnishings. Today's
fashions for bedrooms are just
as exciting as Paris fashions.
Yet, so often homemakers con
centrate all of their budget on
the living rooms and use "left
overs" to achieve a rather
haphazard effect in the bed
rooms. The master bedroom
in many homes, is often the
only "refuge" for adults in
the house, and therefore
should be furnished for com
fort and eye-appeal, say deco
rator - designers at Morgan-Jones.
Good color for the bedroom
means a pleasant scheme that
doesn't startle, yet has a
fresh, crisp effect. Consis
tency of scale is important.
Use large pieces if the room
has the space; small pieces
when planning a limited area.
Casual Good
Good furniture groupings
In a room will Import interest
and Individuality. Avoid the
stereotypes. Depend upon cas
ual, yet imaginative, arrange
ments. For the homcmaker on a
low-budget, country-style dec
orating can be an excellent so
lution. With time and effort,
old furniture can be painted

Suits Are Trend
Spring, 1963, will mark an
important point of departure
from styles of recent years
in many key segments of a
man's wardrobe.
Most notable, are the strong
trends to the two-button mod
el and to brighler-than-med-turn
tones in men's suits.
Light, silvery greys arc a top
style favorite.
Next most newsworthy de
velopment is the introduction
of "suiting weight" fabrics in
the new spring topcoats.
Stripes, ranging from the
big brond and bold to pin
stripes take on a new Impor
tance in men's shirts, both
dress and sports.
Sportswear gives new em
phasis to co-ordination, with
sports jackets, slacks and
walk shorts literally "made
for one another."
FOR FLATTERY
Fashion to flatter is the
softly-shaped coat with lightly
indented front and smooth
gently eased or cape-full back.
some results that the price
won't show.
Check the attic, you may
find the nucleus of an entirely
new look for the room. Scout
second-hand shops for furnish
ings which could mix-match
with pieces you already own.
Given a bit of restyling,
these pieces might emerge as
prized possessions rather than
make - dos. Different woods
and periods can complement
each other and create a far
more interesting blend than
any matching group can pos
sibly do.
Color Glows
This is a color-splashed era
. . , and there's no style that
takes better to color than
country - type decor. Count
strongly on bright and cheer
ful colors to give bedrooms a
face lifting. Color can be the
Imaginative, touch that makes
the difference between a hum
drum room and one that
glows.
The most versatile way a
canny homemaker can inject
color, texture and perhaps
even pattern in her room is
by the choice of the proper
bedspread. Styles in the Morgan-Jones'
collection, for ex
ample, run the gamut, sport
ing price tags to fit every
pocketbook. Made in decor
ator colorings, they have all
the easy-care features, plus
the fashion look.
The accessories selected for
your room are like the frost
ing on the cake. Select each
one ... no matter how little
it costs ... to either perform
a function or simply be beau'
tiful in its own right.
