This Week's Plan for Home Builders
A house of true quality re
flects attention to detail. Here
is such a house. ' ' , '
This home is simple in con
cept and very economical to
build. The exterior design of
most rectangular homes
leaves considerable to be de
sired. This is definitely not
true with this home. The win
dows in the front bedrooms
and bath have all been tied
together with a . wooden
frame which projects past the'
wall of the house. This adds
immeasurably to the refresh
ing exterior and makes it im
possible to , spot the bath lo
cation from the street. Wide
expanses of stone ' veneer
flank the bank of windows
while a low stone planter
compliments the overall de
sign, -r .-(' - :,- ;
The handsome. front wall of
the garage consists of three
stationary obscure windows
plus stone veneer and plant
er. Beams project from the
top and ends of each roof
gable. Especially notice how
the roof has been extended
over the front-porch so that
the eaves of the house meet
those of the garage. This
roof is supported by posts to
which' has been 'attached a
screen that enhances the over
all beauty of the home and
also provides privacy at the
front entry.
There is easy traffic circu
lation to all areas without, un
desirable room-crossing. A
partial' wall separates the en
try from- the living room.
This visually expands both
areas and allows light from
the living room to reach the
entry.

Calgon9 cleans away washing film
that detergents and bleach can't touch
Washing film: It yellows, it won't rinse
out. It leaves things not quite clean.
Soaps and detergents can't touch it.
(In fact they cause it. That's why extra
detergent is no substitute for Calgon.)
Bleach can't remove washing film,
either. But Calgon water conditioner
gets rid of it just . . . like . . . that!
A little Calgon with less detergent
and your linens simply shine. Towels fluff
up like new . . . and absorb more water.
Diapers dry soft as baby. Well, almost.
Nylons and Dacron? No more yellow
ing from washing film when you use Cal
gon. Cotton prints getting dim? Often
that's washing film, but colore snap right
back with Calgon.
Washer makers recommend Calgon,
and put Calgon samples in new machines.
P.S. A Calgon solution restores dull
shower curtains . . . cleans combs and
brushes Oust soak a while); And a little
Calgon in the water prevents bathtub
ring, soap lathers bet
ter, rinses away cleanly. ' i
Why Calgon even
brings out the natural
shine of your hair.
(Rinse first with Cal
gon, then with plain
water.)
Now won't
Calgon?

Despite the size of the
house, the master bedroom
enjoys the luxury of a pri
vate dressing room and bath.
Besides an unusual amount
of wardrobe space, the dress
ing room has a wide dress
ing table. The bath features
a semi - hidden water clos
et and a twin pullman lavatory.
Immaginative planning has
created a family bath with a
long pullman lavatory, a lin
en closet,- an - enclosed tub
with shower over and a re
cessed water closet.
The spacious living - dining
room has been made to ap
pear even larger by using
wide sliding glass doors
which open to the rear patio.
In addition to the usual
built-ins, this kitchen offers
a wide pantry plus a gener
ous size eating nook.

Stop Signs Are
Installed in City
Stop signs were ' installed
yesterday at three intersec
tions and a yield sign at a
fourth intersection, Vernon
Thorpe, city engineer said.
The signs were recommend
ed by the city's traffic, co
ordinating committee, accord
ing to Robert A. Duff, city
manager.
The stop signs will be at
Niantic and Edwards sts. to
stop Niantic st. traffic; Ed
wards and Boardman sts., to
stop Boardman st. traffic, and
Capital ave. and Valley View
dr, to stop eastbound traffic
on Capital ave.
The yield sign is located at
the intersection of Highland
dr., Keeneway dr., and Bar
neburg rd. Traffic on both
Keeneway dr. and Barneburg
rd. will yield to Highland dr.
traffic, Thorpe said. He said
this intersection is the fourth
location in the city where a
yield sign is located.
A full stop is not necessary
for a yield sign, it was noted,
but traffic at the intersection I
must yield to traffic on both
the left and right.
