Nuptial Mass IVeds Pair
Wiss Marsha Ann O'Sulli-
van became the bride of Rob
ert J. Weber in a nuptial
mass celebrated at noon
February 9 in the Sacred
Heart Catholic church. The
bridegroom's brother, the Rev.
Gabriel M. Weber, Air Force
chaplain, officiated.
The bride, who has lived
in Portland for the past year,
is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert J. O'Sullivan, 518
North Barneburg road, Med
ford. The bridegroom is a son
of Mrs. Andrew Weber, Port
land, and the late Mr. Weber.
About 150 guests attended
the ceremony.
Miss Janet O'Sullivan, a
sister of the bride, was the
honor attendant and brides
maids were Miss Rose Mary
Smith, Portland, and the
Misses Judy Christensen and
Jacqueline Creager, both Med
ford, who came from the Uni
versity of Oregon where they
are students.
Charles Weber, Portland,
another brother of the bride
groom was best man, and
seating the guests were Ed
ward Weber and James
Weber, Portland, also broth
ers; Merlin Wald, Portland,
and Terry O'Sullivan, a
brother of the bride, also from
the University of Oregon.

of ivory satin and Chantilly

which held her veil. Her only
jewelry was a diamond arid
pearl pendant, a gift from the
bridegroom. She carried a
bouquet of white carnations
and freesia, centered with a
white orchid.
The attendants wore emer
ald green satin dresses with
matching veiled satin crowns
trimmed with lilies-of-the-
valley which also were re
peated in their nosegays of
white carnations.
Each altar was decorated
with white flowers and at the
main altar also were baskets
of white chrysanthemums and
stock.
Organ music was furnished
by Bruno Pellegrini.
For her daughter's wed
ding, Mrs. O Sullivan wore a
silk print jacket dress in
shades of aquamarine with
matching hat and the bride
groom's mother was dressed
in beige brocade also with
matching hat. Both wore gar
denia corsages.
Reception Given
The Starlight room at the
Rogue Valley Country club
was scene of the wedding re
ception given by the bride's
parents. Table decorations in
green and white were arrang
ed by Mrs. Richard Remen
teria, and Mrs. Francis Olds,
grandmother of the bride.

Miss Stephanie Shaw, Eu
gene, a cousin of the bride,
registered the guests, and Miss
Ann Rementeria, passed rice
to the guests. Coffee was
poured by Mrs. Dennis Barr,
and presiding at the punch
bowl were Mrs. Robert L.
Gallagher, Portland, and Mrs.
Robert D. Shaw, aunts of the
bride. About 100 guests at
tended.
Several pieces of a set of
china given to the bride's
great great grandmother as a
wedding gift in 1838 were
used on the reception tables.
The couple left for a 10
day wedding trip to San Fran
cisco and other California
cities. For traveling the bride
chose a gold colored wool suit
with black patent leather ac
cessories. Her corsage was the
white orchid from her wed
ding bouquet.
The couple will be at home
after February 23 in Cedar
Hills, Beaverton, Ore.
The bride is a 1959 gradu
ate of Medford High school
and attended Marylhurst col
lege at Oswego. The bride
groom attended the Univer
sity of Oregon and is self em
ployed as a gasoline dealer.
The bridegroom's mother
will be hostess at a reception
in her home in Portland for
the newly married couple
Sunday, February 24.

Luncheon Set;
Attend Event
Ladies of Elks will meet
Tuesday, February 19 in the
Elks club downstairs lounge.
A salad luncheon will be
served at 1 p.m., followed by
Dridge, canasta and pinochle.
Hostesses for the afternoon
will be, Mrs. A. P. Collins,
Mrs. I. F. Bittle and Mrs. L.
Pete Soots.
Mothers, wives and widows
of Elks are cordially invited
to these events for which pre
arranged foursomes are not
necessary.
On Wednesday, February
13, the Medford ladies were
guests of the Ashland ladies
at the Ashland Elks club. Forty-three
Medford women attended.
Those winning prizes at
pinochle were Mrs. Mary Pap
worth, Mrs. Sam L. Jones and
Mrs. Soots.
Bridge prizes were won by
Mrs. Edith G. Grisby, Mrs.
Dwight L. Seely and Mrs. S.
Ralph Dippel.
A special prize was won
by Mrs. M. M. Morris.

here from Merced, Calif.

dent, reported on a recent
convention committee meet
ing and stated that the chap
ter will have charge of the
ball and exhibits to be dis
played during a state conven
tion to be held this year in
Medford. Mrs. Richard Card
and Mrs. Tucker arc chair
men of the exhibits division.
The cultural program on
art was presented by Mrs.
Dalton Grcssctt who dis
played Currier and Ives
prints.

tive cast was named, for the
Kapers and that evening final
casting was done at a party
at the high school.

en's clubs, will hold an all
day session Wednesday, Feb
ruary 20 beginning at 10 a.m.
The session is to be held in
the Riverside restaurant at
Grants Pass and presiding will
be Mrs. William Harms, dist
rict president, from that city.
A coffee hour will be con
ducted from 9 a.m., and a no
host a la carte luncheon will
be served at noon. Club mem
bers as well as officers are
invited to attend.
Plans for the annual district
convention to be held April 3
in Talent will be made. The
Talent Federated Woman's
club will be hostess group.
Officers have pointed out
that those going from the
Medford area may more eas
ily reach the Riverside rest
aurant by leaving the freeway
at the city of Rogue River
and traveling on the old high
way, now the Rogue Biver
highway, into Grants Pass.

News has been received
here of the engagement of
Miss Georgia Louise Lemkuil,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. T.
Lemkuil of Escalon, Calif.,
and Walter O. Peterson, form
erly of Medford and now of
San Francisco.
The bridegroom-elect, a son
of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Peter
son, 709 Alder street, Med
ford, lived here the most of
his life.
The announcement was
made recently at a family
gathering in the bride-elect's
home.
Miss Lemkuil is a graduate
of Escalon Union High school
where she earned a life mem
bership in the California
Scholarship federation and
she also was active in the
music department, Girls Ath
letic association and Girls
league. She received her bach
elors degree in music at the
San Francisco Conservatory
of Music and there studied
with the famed Egon Petri.

Marriage Rites Held
Miss Jo Ann Kingslien and
Jack Winchester were mar
ried in 2 o'clock afternoon
rites February 9 in the First
Church of God. The Rev. W.
E. Martin performed the cere
mony attended by members
of the couple's family.
Immediately following the
reception the couple left for
Corvallis, where they will live
at 445 South Ninth street. The
bridegroom is a sophomore
engineering student at Oregon
State university.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John O. Kings
lien, 147 Highland drive, and
the bridegroom is a son of
Mrs. LcRoy Winchester, 813
West Eleventh street, and Mr.
Winchester, also of Medford.
Miss Patricia Brown was
the bride's only attendant and
Hal Kingslien, a brother of
the bride, served as best man.
For her wedding the bride
chose an aquamarine and sil
ver brocade frock with white
net overskirt. She wore a veil
and her flowers were a nose
gay of white carnations and
pink rosebuds.

bride was employed by the
Medford school district. She

college and both the bride and
bridegroom attended Medford
