FEBRUARY I. 1913
They tipoff at 8 p.m. at
Klamath Falls.
This is the lone skirmish of
the week end for the Comets
and they'll aim to make the
most of it. Klamath treks to
Ashland on Saturday.
The Fireballs of Central
Point (5-3 in the loop) have
several reasons for wanting
to succeed tonight. This
their finest season in confer
ence basketball and they want
to complete it as well as they
started, or better. Too, the
Comets have yet to triumph
on the Pelican court at Klanv
ath Falls. And, it was Klam
ath (6-2) which last week took
over the lead alone with
victory over Crater.
The Pels and Comets have
broken even in conference
play. Crater took an overtime
triumph over the Klamath
club in the league's first
round of play.
Crater tonight will work at
measures to hold down the
Klamath scoring while aiming
to shake open the Pels with
some sizzling pointmaking of
its own. Better rebounding
than accomplished against the
Pelicans last Saturday also
will be sought.
An ' objective will be to
keep the Whitebirds from
grabbing a wide margin at the
start. Last week the Klamath
ites jumped to 22 to 8 in the
opening period. And, it was
uSt a bit too much for the
Comets to overcome.
The rebounding challenge
gain will provide for Crater
combat, against greater
height. For Pel Coach Al
Keck is expected to have at
least four six-footers on his
starting five, while Fireballs'
mentor Lloyd Hoffine will not
have more than two that tall.
Crater starters will be
named from among Darryl
Summerflcld, Lou Alvarez,
Mike Gllnes, Pat Pepper,
Howard Tomlinson and Paul
Bransom with Summerflcld a
sure choice.
For Klamath 11 may be
Fred Kellcy, Wayne Chamber-
land, Dick Scott, Hal Holrnan
and Grover Dohn or Terry
Ash.
Coacli Lloyd Hoffine re
ported the Comets "went over
lot of things yesterday

and via walk-through drills.
They also shot a lot.

had the work. The Eagles also
have drilled against the press
St. Mary's uses and have lab
ored to perfect their offensive

Bill Hoefft has been sharp
in drill and gives the Eagles
added rebounding, defense
scoring. He saw his first ac
