panic.
The 10th grade student
scored 147 on sn !Q test while

lent student.
Admits Other Shootings
Young Godfrey admitted he
fired two shots at Bloomtieia

at a car to establish the pres
ence of a sniper in tne area.
He said he missed the car hut

dows in the wealthy sub
division.
His admission he plotted
his mother's death - while
ending the fear-filled nights
of Oakland county residents
added another tragedy to the
Donald Godfrey family.
"We argued all the time.
She was too strict. She never
let me do the things I wanted
to do," Godfrey told authori
ties in his confession at the
state police post here.
The boy's father pledged to
"stand by my son . . . This is
one of those things which is
hard to explain."
He added, "I always con
sidered him a good boy."
Accompanies Son
The father, a manufacturer
of precision Instrument,
brought the youth to the state
police post at the request of
Oakland County Prosecutor
George Taylor after evidence
began to point to Godfrey's
son.
Mrs. Godfrey was killed
Jan. 25 by a 28-caliber slug
fired through the kitchen win
dow of her home. The slug
struck her in the left eye.

Farmers and stockmen In
the Jackson county area, ap
proximately 451 of them, will
share in a 5 per cent, $10,
586.75 dividend to be paid by
the Federal Land Bank asso
ciation of Roseburg.
The dividend, declared by
the association's board of di
rectors, is payable to all stock
holders of record Nov. 30,
1062, K. W. Knechtel, man
ager, said. The checks were
mailed Feb. 5.
Knechtel said the $10,586.75
dividend represents the asso
ciation's share of a 5 per cent
5640,000 dividend declared by
the Federal Land Bank of
S.okane. The Spokane bank
has paid out more than $5,'
(100,000 In dividends since
1944, according to Knechtel.
During that, same period the
FLBA of Roseburg has paid
$92,345.80 to its stockholders.
The local association makes
loans for the Spokane bank in
Douglas, Coos, Curry, Jose
phine and Jackson counties.
