Newlyweds Visit Here;
Will Live in Portland
The Rev. and Mrs. Ted Wes
ton Landers, who weremarried
January 12 in Portland, were
to leave today after being
week end guests of the bride
groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Landers, 840 Marshall
avenue. They are enroute to
their home in Portland from
San Francisco where they
made their wedding trip.
The bride, the former
Mirs Merrilyn Christie Peter
son, is a daughter of Willie
Peterson, Eugene.
The two o'clock afternoon
ceremony was performed in
the Burlingame Baptist
church, Portland. Officiating
were Dr. Ralph Isensee, min
ister of the church, and the
Rev. Glenn Frye II of the
Barton Baptist church.
Mrs. David Whitehead was
matron of honor for her sis
ter and bridesmaids were the
Misses Marcene Eaocn and
Marilyn Eaden, both her fos
ter sisters, and Joan Kinkade,
Seattle. Junior bridesmaid
was Alice Ellen Eaden, anoth
' er foster sister.
Brother Attandt
The Rev. Ned S. Landers,
also Portland, was best man
for his twin brother.
' Urhers were Ray Holder,
Ray Westeren, Seattle, and
David Turner. Silverton.
Randy Bristlin, Estacada, was
Junior usher.
The bride, given in mar
, riage by her father, wore a
floor length gown, with scal
loped V neckline and lace
bodice trimmed with sequins.
The full net skirt was cover
ed with tiers of lace. The
bride carried a bouquet of
white carnations centered
with a corsage of yellow rose
buds. For romething old she
carried a Mexican lace hand
kerchief which the bride
groom's mother had carried
at her wedding, and wore
cold and ruby locket, an heir
loom of the bride's family.
Her fingertip veil was neid
by a sequin crown.
The attendants wore cord
uroy suits with soft pleated
skirts. They were of varied
shades of brown and yellow
with the maid of honor wear
ing gold. Their bouquets were
of vellow chrysanthemum
The candlelighters, Miss
Joan Anderson and Miss Ce
celia Paine, wore yellow cord
tiroy frocks with brown acces
sories.
Yellow and brown chrysan
themums decorated the
church. Don Clausen sang the

wedding songs and Mrs.
Hugh Weber furnished the or
gan music.
Mother Wears Lama
For the wedding and re
ception the bridegroom's
mother wore a yellow and
gold lame dress with match
ing accessories. Her flowers
were yellow chrysanthemums.
For traveling the bride
chose a brown suit with bone
colored accessories.
They will live at 3141
Southwest Barbur boulevard,
Portland.
The bride, an employee of
Montgomery Ward and com
pany, attended Judron Bap
tist college. The bridegroom,
who is Christian education di
rector at the Burlingrme Bap
tist church, attended Southern
Oregon college and Weston
Conservative . Baptist semin
ary. Among out-of-town guests
for the ceremony were the
bridegroom's father; Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Gandt and daugh
ter, Miss Julie Gandt, Mcd
ford; Glen Lamb, Portland,
and Mr. and Mrs. Homer
Blum, Corvallis, all former
Medford residents.
In Hawaii
Ashland - Mr. and Mrs.
Dom Provost flew to Hawaii
recently where they will
spend their customary winter
vacation.
Newlyweds
Make Home
In Medford
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ang
vald Vickoren are making
their home at 129 Mistletoe
avenue, Apartment 1, follow
ing their wedding at St.
Anne's Episcopal church in
Myrtle Creek. The Rev.
Robert W. Bunnage, Rose
burg, officiated at the 7:30
o'clock evening ceremony.
The bride, is the former
Linda Carol Ulam, a daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo W.
Ulam, Myrtle Creek. Mr.
Vickoren. who made his
home at 902 Maple Park
drive, Medford, is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Harper,
Ogden, Utah.
Some 30 relatives and
friends attended the double
ring rites, held December 22.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a gown
of white satin styled on prin
cess lines and fashioned with
scoop neckline and elbow
length sleeves. Her shoulder
length veil fell from a pearl
crown and she carried a
white orchid on a satin cov
ered testament which orig
inally was owned by the late
Mrs. Norman Clark, her
grandmother.
Wears Red Satin '
Mrs. Keith Ulam, Klamath
Falls, served as honor attend
ant for her sister-in-law. She
wore a red satin frock with
red headdress. Mrs. Richard
Ulam, Myrtle Creek, another
sister-in-law, was bridesma-
tron. She wore a green wool
sheath dress. Her short white
veil was held by a circlet
of green satin and they both
carried white carnations.
David Goss, Canyonville,
served as best man and seat
ing the guests was Neil Gib
son, Riddle.
Miss Barbara Meirs was in
charge of the guest book.
Following the ceremony a
reception was held at the
home of the bride's parents.
The bride attended Myrtle
Creek High school and South
ern Oregon college. The
bridegroom attended Medford
High school and Southern
Oregon college and is em
ployed by Medford Concrete
Construction company.
Orientation '
Event Set
The Jackson County chap
ter of the American Red Cross
will conduct an orientation
program in the chapter house,
60 Hawthorne avenue Tues
day, January 22, from D a.m.
until 12 noon.
This is an annual program
to familiarize v o 1 u n t eers,
board members and persons
interested in the Red Cross
with the scope of activities
performed. Mrs. Frank Fair
weather, local volunteer field
consultant, will be in charge
of the orientation. Local chair
men for the various services
will participate and give back
ground on their particular
service and its function with
in the community.
Volunteers are always need
ed. This program offers any
one wishing to volunteer some
time an opportunity to get
acquaointed with local work
ers and decide in what field
they would like to serve.
Board members and current
volunteers, who have not had
this course of instruction, are
required to attend, Red Cross
officials said. Mrs. O. A. Ed
en, chairman of volunteers,
indicated that anyone inter
ested in- Red Cross service
will be welcomed at the orien
tation program.

Illinois Valley - Mrs. Norn
ia Rutledge of Des Moines,
Iowa, who has been visiting
relatives in the valley, ac
companied by her aunt, Mrs.
Nellie Wilbur, left recently
for Des Moines. They went by
way of Sunset, Ariz., where
they will visit relatives be
fore continuing to Mrs. Rut
ledge's home. Mrs. Wilbur,
who recently observed her
eighty-eighth birthday, will
remain for about two months
before returning here.
