for a party and buffet dinner
recently.
The Ashton's son, Thomas,
a photographer's mate third
class, was home on leave from
the Navy. He is with the pho
tographic center in Washing
ton, D. C.

er two sons, Jerry and Robert.
Jerry attends San Jose State
college.

Ashton's mother, Mrs. Mary

completed a five week train
ing course in Kansas City,
Mo., and has won her wings

Tne bride wore a sheath
dress in afternoon length of
Mr. and Mrs. Gary Heath
white di luna fashioned with
fitted bodice, cap sleeves and
scoop neckline. An ovcrskirt
of unpressed pleats, fastened
with a bow at the waistline,
was caught up in front and
held by a bow. Her float veil
of silk illusion was held by
a crown of white velvet flow
ers with iridescent centers.
She carried a bouquet of
white carnations and red
rosebuds on a white bible.
Mrs. Charles S. Baldwin,
Severn, Md., attended the
bride. She wore a powder
blue taffeta frock with chif
fon drapery. Her flowers
were white carnations and
red rosebuds.
Ronald B. Ward, Nampa,
Idaho, served as best man.
The bride, a student at
Southern Oregon college,
traveled to Maryland during
the holiday vacation at the
college. Mr. Heath, a gradu
ate of Ashland High school,
is stationed at Fort Meade in
Maryland with the U. S.
Army.
The couple- traveled to
Washington, D. C, on their
wedding trip after a dinner
at The Sierra. Mrs. Heath has
returned to Ashland for the
winter term where she is a
sophomore in elementary edu
cation. She was valedictorian
of her 1061 class at Eagle
Point High school, and is at
tending college on scholar
ships from Oregon Elks and
Oregon Congress of Parents
and Teachers.
Collins Return
From Hawaii
Mr. and Mrs. Edward H.
Collins and children, David,
Barbara and Julie, have re
turned to their home on White
Oak drive after spending the
holidays in Hawaii. They were
guests of Mr. Collins' brother-in-law
and sister, MaJ. Gen,
and Mrs. Sam Maddux, Hick-
am field. The Collins made the
trip by jet plane from Port
land.
Also in Hawaii for a winter i
vacation were Mr. and Mrs.
David Holmes and children,
Bonnie and Scott, formerly of
Medford and now of Los An

light when the Oak Grove
Parent - Teacher association
holds its annual Dads' night
in the school cafeteria Mon
day, January 7, at 7:30 p.m.
Of particular interest to
dads will be the guest speak

coach at Medford High
school. He will tell about
Medford's athletic program.
A musical group of dads
will entertain too, according
to program chairman Mrs.
Ralph Matlack.
Another feature of the eve
ning will be a bad s cake-baking
contest, with a prize lor
the most unique creation. Ail
dads are urged by the com
mittee to bring samples of
their baking talents.

Lee Coghill, December 28 in
8 o'clock evening double ring
rites read by the Rev. George
R. Bolster in St. Mark's Epis
copal church.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Don R. Smith,
2825 Lucky lane, Medford,
and the bridegroom's parents
are Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L.
Coghill, 1289 Coghill lane,
Medford.
Both the bride and bride
groom were graduated in 1962
from Medford High school.
The bride attended Southern
Oregon college and the bride
groom is a student at San
Jose Junior college, Calif. The
couple made their wedding
trip to San Jose, where they
are living at 875 Northrup
avenue.
Miss Nona Jean Donahue
was the honor attendant and
bridesmaids were Miss Terre
M c C a n n, Redondo Beach,
Calif.; Miss Vicki Brumback
and Miss Bonnie Knapp.
The flower girl was Denise
Hannaford, and Donnie Han
naford carried the rings. Both
are cousins of the bridegroom.
Steven Ray was best man
and ushers were Gene Offord,
Jacksonville, Steven Smith,
Kevin Davis and Rex Nico-
demus.
Gown of Lace
Given in marriage by her
cousin, Curtis Cook, the bride
wore a floorlcngth lace gown
styled with a tiered hooped
skirt. The fitted bodice was
designed with short sleeves
and a scalloped neckline. Her
elbow length veil was held by
a crown with seed pearl trim
ming and she carried a cas
cade bouquet of white carnations.
The honor attendant wore
a royal blue satin frock with
street length skirt with
draped bow at the side and
matching headband of satin
with float veil. The brides
maids wore matching powder
blue dresses and headbands
with veils. Their bouquets
were of while carnations.
The flower girl's frock and
veil in light blue matched
those of the attendants.
Blue carnations and while
chrysanthemums d e c o rated
the church and the organ
music was furnished by Mrs.
E. C. Conrad. Maynard Had-
ley sang the wedding songs.

Miss Ann Leslie McDuffce,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul
McDuffce, 2000 Hillcrest road,
Medford, a junior at the Ore
gon State university, has been
chosen to be a member of
Mademoiselle magazine's 1963
national college board, made
up of students from colleges
and universities across the
country. This is the third year
that Miss McDuffce has been
selected for the honor.
The annual competition is
designed for young women
with talent in art, writing,
fashion, merchandising, pro
motion or advertising.
Miss McDuffce's major is in
clothing and textiles. She is a
Medford High school graduate.
Each board member was se
lected on the basis of an en
try that showed her interest
and ability.
As a college board member
she will report news from her
college to Mademoiselle and
she is eligible to compete for
one of the 20 guest editor-

three-quarter length jacket
with black accessories. The
bridegroom's mother wore a
white brocade suit with royal
blue accessories. Both had
corsages of white carnations.

former Miss Janice Coghill,
sister of the bride, now of
Sunnyvale, Calif. She was ac
companied by her infant
daughter, Karen Tamara Corn
stock. The bride wore a blue and
grey plaid suit for traveling.
The bridegroom also is em
ployed by the Casey Jones
Furniture company in San
Jose.
Before the wedding two
miscellaneous showers were
given. One, for which Mrs.
Ferguson was the hostess, was
attended by family members
and friends of both the bride
and bridegroom. The other,
given by Miss Donahue and
Miss Bonnie Knapp was at
tended by friends of the
bride. A personal shower
niven by Miss Brumback, also
was attended by friends of
the bride.
