All but two state senator to of State Employees Share in Awards For Suggestions Salem -JUPD- Eleven slate employees shared cash awards totaling $410, and one em ployee received a certificate of commendation for sugges tions reviewed and consid ered by the Employee Sug gestion Awards Board, it has been announced. First-year savings to the state as a result of the sug gestions will be more than $3,800, the board said. William I. Haight, Lloyd W. Smith and K. E. Morton Oregon State Game Commis sion, will share $270 for sug gestions relative to the addi tion of oxygen to the fish lib eration units. Barbara Louise Mcadors, a secretary at Dammasch State Hospital, Wilsonville, will re ceive $10 for a suggested method of record keeping. Form Change Pays Off Another hospital employee, Charles F. Annis, received $30 for suggesting a change in patient adittance forms. Helen M. Smith, depart ment of veterans' affairs, re ceived $10 for a new method of handling mail. A $30 award will be shared equally by Margaret Leith and Carl Sjolander, MacLarcn school for boys, for a pro posed new inventory system. Three MacLaren school em ployees, Fred Kinns, Al Jar vis and Sjolander, received $00 for proposing a change in food program procedures at the school. Elston P. Katharine Musa (D The Dalles) rated "the appe tite of the tax eaters" the big issue. Rep. John R. Dellenback1 (R- Medford) said "the biggest short-range issue will be the source of increased state rev enues which may be neces sary to meet estimated in creases in state expenditures. "The biggest long-range Is sue will be constitutional re vision," he added. Rep. Edward W. Elder (R Eugene) said "The biggest is sue will be to "try to run the government without raising taxes." Rep. Clarence Barton (D Coquille) speaker- designate of the House-where all money bills must originate-added im pact to the answers of other legislators when he answered succinctly the biggest single issue was "revenue and taxa tion.
