students, are now receiving in
struction in nuclear physics
from Dr. Rudi Nussbaum, as
sociate professor of physics.
"The laboratory contains
equipment for the most ad
vanced measurement tech
niques of nuclear radiation,"
he said.
The equipment includes a
neutron source for activation
of short-life radioisotropes and
for experiments with neutrons
themselves. There is also a
gamma ray spectrometer us
ing sodium iodide crystals and
solid stale detectors for spec
troscopy of alpha and beta
particles.
