Funeral services for Mrs.
Orrie Bernice Stoddard, 85,
who died at a local convales
cent home Friday, will be
held at Perl Funeral home at
1:30 p.m. Monday. The Rev.
George S. Roseberry, pastor
of the First Methodist church,
will officiate. Entombment
will be in the Acacia Memo
rial mausoleum, Seattle,
Wash.
Mrs. Stoddard was burn at
Tipton, Iowa, Aug. 20, 1877.
She was the dai;hlcr of John
Howell McCroskcy and Ada
Louisa Bunker, and spent her
early life in Iowa. She was
married to George Tanner
Stoddard at Primghar, Iowa,
July 12, 1899. They moved to
Bridgeport, Wash., where
they lived until 1920, when
they moved to Puyallup,
Wash. They then moved to
Everett, Wash., where, they
lived until Mr. Stoddard's
death in 1944.
After Mr. Stoddard's death
she moved to Medford to live
with her daughter, Mrs.
Myrna S. Frink.
She was a member of the
Order of Eastern Star for 58
years, was an active member
in the Methodist church, and
a member of the Order of
the Amaranth.
She is survived by two
daughters, Mrs. Myrna S.
Frink, Medford, and Mrs.
Bernice O. Kenton, Wilming
ton, Del.; two sons, Wayne
Stoddard Sr., Albany, Ore.;
and Bruce O. Stoddard, Idaho
Falls, Idaho; ten grandchil
dren and four great grand
children. Honorary pallbearers will
be Fred Purdin. Charles
HoDpc, La Canficld, Richard
Mayfield, John Esp and Hal
Bishop.
It is the request of the fam
ily that a donation may be
contributed to the Memorial
fund of the First Methodist
church.

ium. The meeting was a play
night so we had a short meet
ing. We decided to have a
food sale Dec. 8. Two of our
members told of honors they
received on achievement

I Sheriff's deputies are as

Someone entered the home

were at work when the theft

Couch Fire Medford fire
men were called at 1:58 a.m.
Saturday when a couch
caught fire at the Robinson
hotel, 106 East Main st.
When firemen arrived, the
burning cushions had been
thrown out a window. 1 he
men carried the couch out
of the building and extin
guished the blaze, believed
started by a cigarette. There
was no other damage.

Grenfell Released
By Portland Hospital
Portland - HW - Stale Sen.
William Grenfell (D - Port
land), who was involved in
a fatal accident Oct. 8, has
been released from a hospi
tal here, it was announced
Friday.
Grenfell, who suffered mul
tiple injuries including a
fractured pelvis in the acci
dent, faces charges of leav
ing the scene of an accident
and of filing a false police
report.
He told police that he was
abducted but later admitted
that the story was false and
that he was involved in the
accident. '
