a heart attack while hunting

Phillip Eckholm, 82, who died
Sunday, will be held at 1:31)
p.m. Friday in Ashland Mor

sts., Ashland. The Rev. B. J.

terian church will officiate.
Committal will be in Moun
tain View cemetery.
Mr. Eckholm was born May
28, 1900, In Oakpark, Minn.
He had lived in Ashland for
about 10 years. He is survived
by several brothers and sisters
in Minnesota.

Ashland Maude Elma Flu
gcr, 85. of 100 Alida st., Ash
land, died Tuesday after a
long illness.
She was born April 3, 1H77,
in Wichita. Kans., and had
lived in Ashland since 1909.

Ellon Ramsay, Klamath
Falls, and Mrs. Earl Omholz,
Sacramento, Calif.; five
grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren.
A daughter, Pearl, died in
Ashland in 1924.
Funeral services will be
held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in
the Ashland Episcopal church.
The Rev. Duane Alvord will
officiate. Interment will be
in Ml. View cemetery.
Board Reviews Trip
To East; Plans One
To California Soon
The Medford school board
last night reviewed its visita
tion trip lo schools in the east
and mid-west and reviewed
plans for 'visiting schools in
the bay area Dec. 2 through 8.
The trips are being made
under a Ford Foundation
because the land in that area
is not suitable for septic
tanks.
The board also authorized
the chairman's signature on a
petition requesting extension
of sewer service into an area
in the Jefferson school vici
nity. The district own.' half
the land adjoining the street
where the sewer line will be
located.

the VA Domiciliary. White
Cily, who died Tuesday, are
tentatively scheduled for 2
p.m. Friday at the White Cily

Ashland Funeral services
for Mrs. Rachel Katheryn
Fleenor, 61, of 231 Crcsham
st., Ashland, who died Mon
day, will be held at 10 a.m.
Friday at Litwiller's Mt. View
chapel.
The Rev. James Sinclair
will officiate. Interment will
be Memorial Gardens in Rose-
burg.
Mrs. Fleenor was born July
1901. in Sweden, and
moved lo the United States
in 1926. She moved to Ash
land in 1957 from Roseburg.
Survivors include her hus
band, Orval C. Fleenor; four
sons, Rune Johnson, Napa,
Calif.; Gunnar Nashland. Ash
land; Arnold Nashland, Bend;
Roland Johnson. San Lorenzo,
Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Lee
Holmes, Roseburg: 14 grand
children; 1 great grandchild;
and seven sisters and four
brothers, all in Sweden.

develop a plan to improve
education in a project in
which the state department of
education, colleges and uni
versities and public school
districts are cooperating.
Board members and admin
istrators returned earlier this
month after visiting schools In
Kansas, Massachusetts and
Connecticut. Administrators
and .school personnel also
visited schools in the Chicago
area.

The second visitation group
will leave Medford Dec. 2 and
spend a week in the San
Francisco area visiting
schools, most of them high
schools.
Findings of the trip may be
considered for adoption in the
Medford district, although the
district is under no obligation
to do so, school officials
pointed out.
