Funeral services for Mrs.
Amy V. Beers, 67, of 12 South
Orange St., who died Wednes
day, will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday at Perl Funeral
home. The Rev. T. O. Satter
field, former pastor of the
Medford First Church of God.
will officiate. Interment at
Siskiyou Memorial park will
be private.
Mrs. Brers, the daughter of
Frank and Katherine Sewell,
was born March 22, 1894 in
Wisconsin. In 1930, she came
to Medford from Superior,
Wis. In 1914, at Webster, Wis.,
she was married to Percy L.
Beers, who preceded her in
death in February, 1931. She
was a member of the Medford
First Church of God.
Survivors include two sons,
Wesley Beers, Salem, and
Phillip Beers, Reno, Nev.; two
daughters, M r s. Elizabeth
Birkland, Phoenix and Mrs.
Luella Wilson, Central Point;
five brothers, Dan Sewell, Bill
Sewell, David Sewell, Frank
Sewell, all of Superior, Wis.,
and Phillip Sewell, Philomath,

adopted son, John Anthony, 18 months, as she held him
for the first time at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. A Leban

Autopsy Ordered
To Check Death
Ashland - An autopsy was
scheduled today to determine
the cause of the death of Her
bert Beagle Tennis, 56, of
White City, who was found
dead in a room at the Mark
Antony hotel here yesterday.
Herb Hayes, Ashland police
chief, said ii.dications were
that the death was a suicide
but that a definite statement
would await the outcome of
the autopsy.
The body of Herbert B. Ten
nis, 56, a resident of the Vet
erans Administration Domicil
iary at White City, who died
Thursday, will be sent today
to Long Beach, Calif., for lu
neral services and interment.
Perl Funeral home is in
charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tennis, the son of Davis
and Beulah Tennis, was born
on July 3, 1906, at Parsons,
Kan. He was employed as a
shipfitter most of his life. He
was a veteran of World War
II, serving with the U.S. Navy
as a cook. He entered service
on June 23, 1943 and was dis
charged on Jan. 4, 1946. He
has been a resident of the V.A.
Domiciliary since April 16,
1962. He is survived by one
cousin, Wade Campbell, San
Gabriel, Calif.
