Nork-Chubb Ceremony Held

Marguerielle Chubb became
the bride of Benard Lee Nork
in double ring rites October
20 in St. Mark's Episcopal
church, M e d o r d. The 8
o'clock evening ceremony was
performed by the Rev. Leroy
Cox in the presence of more
than 200 guests.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. George Ray
mond Chubb, and the bride
groom's parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Bernard F. Nork, all of
Shady Cove.
Miss Linda Conkey, Med
ford, was the honor attend
ant, and Mrs. William Reaves,
Medford, the former Miss
Phyllis Anne Briggs, was
bridesmatron. Brides maids
were Miss Layne A'berge; and
Miss Joyce Hastings of San
Francisco.
Randi Freeman was flower
girl and Mitchell Freeman,
the ring bearer. Both are of
Talent.
Rodney D. Collins, Mon
mouth, Ore., was best man
and seating the guests were
James P. Vanderlip Jr.,
both of Ashland, and Elden
Elder and Stephen Nork,
brother of the bridegroom.
Mr. Chubb escorted his
daughter to the altar and
gave her in marriage.
The bride's floor length
gown was of Chantilly lace
and silk bombazine over taf
feta, with basque bodice and
long lace sleeves. The Sabrina
neckline was embroidered
with pearls and iridescent se
quins. The bouffant lace skirl
was designed with a cutaway
overskirt of bombazine with
back lace insert which
formed a chapel train. The
overskirt was edged with a
wide band of scalloped lace
and trimmed in front with
lace appliques centered with
pearls and sequins.
Her bouffant veil .of hand
rolled silk illusion was elbow
length and was held by a
petal cap of lace and taffeta
outlined with pearls. She car
ried a bouquet of white rose
buds and stcphanotis with
ivy.
The attendants wore identi
cal princess sheath style
gowns of sapphire blue satin
with short sleeves and full
overskirts fastened with a
bow at the front waistline.
Their small matching pillbox
hats were decorated with a
single rose on top and had

Sets Class
The Jackson County chapter
of the American Red Cross
is once again offering a class
in Home Nursing, beginning
November 5, in the new class
room of the Rogue Valley Me
morial hospital.
The 12-hour class will be
taught over a period of six
consecutive Monday evenings
under the direction of Mrs.
William Baker, a qualified
Red Cross instructor.
The recent disaster in Ore
gon forced many people to
care for sick and injured per
sons in their homes under
the worst possible conditions.
Many homes were without
heat, electricity and telephone
communication with their
physicians for a period of sev
eral days. Nursing care under
special conditions such as
these will be included in this
class, as well as home nurs
ing procedures, home emer
gencies, causes and symptoms
of illness and community
health.
There will be no charge tor
the class; however, it will
be necessary to limit the group
to 16. Those interested in this
class should register at once
by calling the Red Cross of
fice, telephone 772-4405.
Visitors Arrive
From Europe Trip
Miss Lois Zimmrrs and Miss
Joanne Blair, plan to Irave
Monday after visiting since
October 22 at the home of
Miss Zimmers parents. Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Zimmers,
524 Fairmont street.
The two young women are
en route to their home in San
Diego. Calif., after driving
from New York City where
they debarked October 1
for a two-month tour of
Europe. They visited Switzer
land. Germany, Denmark,
Sweden, Belgium. France,
Holland. England, Scotland
and Norway. They marie the
trip by automobile.
Miss Zimmers is a Medford
High school graduate and
until about three years ago
she was employed here by the
Pacific Northwest Bell Tele
phone company. In San Diego
Miss Zimmers is employed by
the Pacific Telephone com

November 1 on Meadows lane
in Shady Cove.
Both the bride and bride

schools and both are Eagle
Point High school graduates.
The bride attended Bri
gham Young university, and
the University of Oregon. The
bridegroom attended South
ern Oregon college and Ore
gon State university. He is as
sociated with the B. F. Nork
Logging company.
The bride formerly was
employed as a laboratory as
sistant in Dr. Ray L. Caster
line's offices, Medford.

They have three children.
Their son, Herbert Goff, lives

They also have 10 grandchil
dren and 12 great grand
children. Mr. Goff's father, John A.

day family. Mrs. Goff's fa
ther. Charies Spaught, also is
still living, in Coos Bay.

ored recently at a farewell
dinner in the Elks dining
room given by fellow mem
bers. She and her family are
moving to Los Angeles.
During the evening a gift
was presented to Mrs. Briscoe
by her successor, Mrs. Paul
Cullop, representing the
auxiliary.

luncheon Wednesday follow
ed by cards in the afternoon.
A social hour in the lounge
preceded the luncheon.
Hostesses wore Hawaiian
dress and leis were given to
guests and members as they
entered the building. Tropical
fruits covered the table at
which punch was served by
Mrs. Frank DcBoer and Mrs.
James Madison, and on the
long luncheon tables island
flowers and leaves carried out
the motif.
Mrs. R. J. Stubblrfield,
president of the Ashland club,
welcomed the Grants Pass
guests, whose president, Mrs.
E. H. Jacobson, responded. Af
ter introducing her officers,
Mrs. Cecil Johnson, vice pres
ident, and Mrs. Floyd Balling
er, treasurer, she invited the
Ashland members to a lunch
eon in Grants Pass on Novem
ber 13.

While in Pittsburgh, Dr.
West will visit his mother-in-law,
Mrs. Sarah Fraser. Mrs.
West, who has been visiting
her mother for the past two
weeks, will return to Medford
