Schedule Meetings
O'Brien - The Seventh Day
Adventist's children's group,
Pathfinders, will meet on al
ternate Sundays at the home
of Mrs. Jack Barnes, Lone
Mountain rd.
The last meeting was held
Oct. 14 with two new mem
bers, Cindy Wilhelm and Lin
da Lcmmon. The children
worked on the identification
of trees by their leaves and
made seed mosaics.
There are five age group
divisions in the Pathfinders -Busy
Bees, Sunshine, Builders,
Helpers and Friends.
The next session will be Oct.
28 from 3 to 5 p.m.

Speak at Zone Rally
Central Point Dr. Mel-
vin H. Snyder, general super
intendent of the western area
of the Pilgrim Holiness
church, will speak tonight at
the Southern Zone rally of
the church in Central Point.
The church is located at
the corner of Pine and Sixth
sts. and the talk will start at
7:30 o'clock.
Churches in the zone in
clude Medford, Grants Pass,
Roseburg. Klamath Falls and
Central Point.
With Dr. Snyder will be the
Rev. John Conner, Salem, su
perintendent of the Pacific
Northwest district. He will in
troduce the speaker.
Several music selections
will be sung by the Klamath
Falls and Central Point
churches.

visit Portland, Ore., to stump
for Democratic candidates.
At a news conference here
Thursday, Truman said he has
canceled all scheduled ap
pearances in the current poli
tical campaign. He was sched
uled to speak at a Democra
tic rally in Portland Oct. 29.
He said his decision was
motivated by "my longtime
practice that partisan politics
be adjourned in time of na
tional danger."

Kennedy signed into law on
Thursday a bill to permit U.S.
entry of certain skilled aliens
and close relatives of Ameri
can citizens. The new law will
give some 7.000 aliens with
special skills immigrant status
with a view to acquiring U.E.
citizenship, and permit entry
of up to 16.000 close relatives
of U.S. citizens.
