Central Point Man
Sentenced in Court
. Willard St. Arnold, 48, of
Central Point, was sentenced
to three years in the Oregon
State penitentiary after his
probation was revoked in
Jackson county circuit court
Monday.
St. Arnold originally was
charged with sodomy. He was
accused of violating probation
terms.
Warlow Crosby Purdin, 535
Fairmont St., Medford, was ar
raigned in circuit court and
pleaded guilty to charges of
obtaining property by false
pretenses. A pre-sentence re
port was ordered. He is
charged with issuing a false
check in Medford July 28.
Howard Carmel Segle, 44.
Olympia, Wash., was ar
raigned on charges of escape
from official detention. He
pleaded guilty. Imposition of
sentence was suspended for
three years. He was accused
of escaping from a county
prisoner work detail Sept. 5.
James Aaron Young, 19,
General Delivery, Medford,
was arraigned on charges of
uttering and publishing a
false check. He pleaded guilty.
A pre-sentence report was or
dered. He is accused of issuing
a false check in a Medford
market Oct. 2.

quired. At the last meeting, Earl
Croft reported that pear pick
ers were needed, all farm
work at a standstill due to
the rain and wind, and many
lost walnut and fruit trees in
the district.
Booster night for our next
meeting was discussed, and it
was decided to have it along
with potluck supper and la
dies are to wear house dresses
and men, jeans.
Boy Scouts are to have the
program for this meeting.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hamlin
and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clark
served refreshments. The reg
ular business meeting in No
vember will be election of
officers.
