Newlyweds Make Home
In Phoenix After Trip
Phoenix - Mr. and Mrs
Melvin Rex Bushnell are liv
ing at 206 Fourth street, in
Phoenix, Ore., following their
wedding trip to Bandnn on
the coast.
The bride Is the former
Miss Marilynn Rae Wadler,
of Redwood City, Calif. Her
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Her
man Wadler of the same city.
The bridegroom's parents
are Mr. and Mrs. Byron
. Bushnell, Route 1, Box Rfi2,
Talent, Ore.
The couple was married
September 23 at 5:30 o'clock
in the evening in the Caeser
room of the Mark Antony ho
tel in Ashland. The Rev. Wil
liam Martin of the First
Church of God performed the
double ring ceremony In the
presence of about 83 guests.
The bride, ' given in mar
riage by Devearl B. Pugmire,
Medford, wore a peau de sole
ballerina length gown with
quarter length sleeves. A
circular crown held her short
veil and she carried a bou
quet of white carnations and
red roses.
Miss Linda Bushnell, a sis
ter of the bridegroom, was
the honor attendant. Her pink
satin ballerina length gown
was designed with cap sleeves
and her bouquet was of red
ropes.
Gladioli in pink and while
shades decorated the room
Mrs. Wayne E. Horton was
soloist, and Mrs. Ray A. Pow
ers furnished the organ mu
sic. The reception, given by the
bridegroom's parents, also
was held in the Cae.ver room.
Assisting were Mrs 11. Bud
Plankcnhorn, and Mrs. Anna
Plankcnhorn, both of Ash
land. For the wedding trip the
bride wore an olive green
suit.

Emery Lanham
Making Home
Gold Hill - Mr. and Mrs,
Emery Noel Lanham are now
residing at Route 1, Box
388 E, Gold Hill, following
their wedding trip to coastal
points. Prior to her marriage
Mrs. Lanham was Miss Mary
Beth Bailey, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Hubert E. Bailey,
Maple lane, Gold Hill. The
bridegroom is a son of Mr.
and Mrs. Vernon L. Lanham,
Birdseye creek.

hovah's Witnesses, officiated
at the double-ring wedding
ceremony held Saturday, Sep
tember 1 at 7 o'clock in the
evening ceremony, in the Gold
Hill hall. About 100 relatives
and friends attended. Baskets
of lavender, purple and while
asters decorated the hall.
The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, wore a
gown of white brocade satin
fashioned with long sleeves.

veil was held in place by
a small hat fashioned of net.
She wore a string of white
pearls and carried a cascade
bouquet of white carnations
and chrysanthemums. Richard
Gcnaw escorted the bride.
Sister Ii Attendant
Miss Sharon Ann Bailey
was maid of honor for her
sister. She wore a lavendar
chiffon gown with skirt set
off by a cummerbund and
carried white chrysanthe
mums. The bridesmaid, Miss
Judith Whalcy. Medford, wore
a lavender silk sheath and
carried white and lavender
chrysanthemums and carna
tions. Mrs. Lanham, the bride
groom's mother, played the
wedding music.
Best man was Robert Lan
ham, brother of the bride
groom and ushers were Grant
Blake and Jesse Nelherland.
Reception Given
A reception was given for
the couple at the home of the
bridegrooms parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Vernon L. Lanham at
their home on Birdseye creek.
The garden was lighted for
the occasion. The gift table
was attended by Miss Judi
Force and Miss Donna Hill.
The interior of the Lanham
home was deroiated with
wedding bells. Mr. and Mrs.

all decorations. Miss Melba
Williams was in charge of the

Sisters of the bridegroom,
Mrs. Ted Yost and Mrs. Joe
Russo, cut and served the wed
ding cake and Mrs. Richard
Genaw presided at the punch
bowl.
For her daughter's wedding
and reception Mrs. Bailey
selected a gold jersey sheath
with black accessories. The
bridegroom's mother wore a
turquoise wool sheath with
white accessories.
For traveling the bride
wore a two-piece turquoise
suit with white accessories ac
cented with a small blue and
green feather hat. Her cor
sage was of white carnations
and chrysanthemums.
Guests from out of town
were Francis Kohl, uncle of
the bride from Fort Old,
Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Donavon
Lanham and son, Red Bluff,
Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Russo and sons. Woodland
Hills, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs.
Alvin Lanham, also Red Bluff.
The bridegroom's family
are long time residents of this
area and the bride's family
has resided in Gold Hill eight j
years, rie is a graounie or
Rogue River High school and
is employed at Cascade Mill
Works. The bride is a grad
uate of Crater High school.

for the Ford foundation, and
a Medford High school teach
er, will discuss the importance
to southern Oregon of the
foundation's local program at
the first regular Washington
Grade School Parent Teach
er association meeting Fri
day, October 12.
The session will open at
2:30 p.m., and is to be held
in the school gymnasium.
The speaker also will point
out the opportunities provid
ed for the future by the
foundation's program.
Coffee will be served be
fore the meeting and parents
wishing to visit teachers may
do so at 2 p.m. Child care will
be furnished for children over
the age of one year.
The executive board of the
association met recently in the
home of Mrs. William Tycer,
hospitality chairman. "Now Is
the Time," was adopted by
the board as this year's theme.
Mrs. Charles Chitwood,
president introduced this
years officers and executive
members. Officers are, Mrs.
Theodore McLean, vice presi
dent; Mrs. Rollie Pean, secre
