A mobile home permits them to own an attractive residence at a sensible cost without the problem of being saddled with burdensome financial commitments. The average contract is only six years, as compared to the 20-24 years for a conventional dwelling. The one low monthly payment covers everything including fur niture, beds, major applainces and carpeting. ECONOMY Retired persons, as a rule, because of sharply lowered income are economy conscious. They discover that it is easy to make friends as a re sult of the group activity and recreation pro grams provided by the park. This factor of par ticipating in social events with park tenants creates a "neighbor-spirit" that quickly dispel loneliness. In sociological su'veys, mobile home residents reveal that in their former homes or apartments they did not have this opportunity to meet such a wide range of friends of similar interests who help them enjoy retirement to the fullest. RECREATION Accompanying the change in housing needs ti a subtle but noticeable change in preference for recreation. There is now the desire for social activity of a more subdued nature with people of similar age levels and similar interests. Most modern parks provide the type of recreation and planned social activities that appeals to older age groups: dances, community events, sched uled group functions, cards, hobbies of all sorts, shuffleboard, croquet, swimming pool. The mod ern park has these and many more recreational facilities. No other type of residential develop ment can offer so much. LOW INITIAL COST Cost of a mobile home ranges between $4,500 and $10,000, depending upon the type of fur nishings and model. National average is $5,500 compared to the high cost of conventional homes from $14,500 to $25,000. Financing is quickly and easily arranged.
