The house, which belonged to Mrs. H. (Beatrice) Warne, and her seven children, was a total loss, firemen said. Exact cause of the fire was not known, but forestry of ficials stated that it may have been a faulty portable gener ator. The entire kitchen area of the house was ablaze when firemen arrived. The house was located about 11 miles up Antelope creek from Crater Lake highway. The department of forestry borrowed two tanker trucks, one from the Central Point Rural Fire department and the other from Elk Lumber company to accompany the pumpers. A 16-year-old neighbor boy discovered the blaze, and saved the television set and some books. The Red Cross has provided the burned-out family, who are living with the R. E. Bald win family, 2907 Roberts rd., with clothes, bedding and other articles. However, some things are still needed. Those wishing to contribute may ca the Red Cross, 772-4405, to find out what the family needs.
