following their recent wed
ding at Turner, Ore.
The bride is the former Miss
Sandra Disbrow, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. M. K. Dis
brow, Route 1, Box 278, Tur
ner, and the bridegroom is a
son of Mr. and Mrs. Gene H.
Foresee, 749 Lozier lane, Med
ford. The wedding ceremony was
read August 11 at 2 o'clock in
the afternoon' in the Turner
Methodist church by the Rev.
Scott Anderson.
The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, chose a
street length frock of textured
satin. The bodice was designed
with a scalloped neckline and
her elbow length veil was
held by a tiara of seed pearls.
She carried a white Bible with
white ruffled gladiolus and
filipenriulas.
Miss Mary Jo Disbrow was
maid of honor for her sister,
and Miss Jackie .To Dick of
Kimberlcy, Ore., was brides
maid. They wore matching
crystal-charm sheaths with
cummerbunds and matching
headpieces. Their bouquets
were of pink cactus type
dahlias.
David Louthan furnished
the organ music and Thurman
Kraler was soloist.

bride's great aunt, Mrs. Wal
ter Larson, who came from
Springfield, Mass.
The bride wore a light tur
quoise colored cotton knit
suit with white accessories,
for the wedding trip to the
Oregon coast, -

prise visit to his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Homer Bissell, 229
Van Ness avenue, Thursday.
He has won widespread recog
nition for his band at West
High school, which has been
chosen to perform for several
national events.

Fiftieth Anniversary
O'Brien An open house
held Sunday, August 19 ob
served the fiftieth wedding
anniversary of Mr. and Mrs.
Arch Smith. The event was
held in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Barnes on Lone
Mountain road.
Mesdames James Wood,
Selma, George Casebeer, Co
Vina. Calif., George Michels,
O'Brien, and Dan Mellish,
Cave Junction, served. In
charge of the guest book
were Mrs. Herbert Falken
hayn and Mrs. William
Smith, both of Cave Junction.
A money tree, made by
Mrs. David Wilson, and fur
nished by the guests was pre
sented with other gifts to the
Smiths.

Children's Art
Continuing at
A display of international
art work of children will re
main on exhibit in the chil
dren's department of the Pub
lic Library of Medford and
Jackson county this week.
Thirty -five countries are
represented in the display,
and all artwork was done by
children from six to 15 years
old. The show is sponsored by
the Jackson county chapter of
the Oregon United Nations as
sociation. A meeting of interested per
sons was held recently in con
nection with the showing, at
which Mrs. Benjamin J. Trow
bridge Jr. spoke.
Mrs. Trowbridge's talk went
behind the obvious interna
tional aspects of the show to
the value artwork has for the
child. She said that the "value

The couple was married in
the Presbyterian church in
Ada, Okla.. August 19, 1912
and they lived in that state
for seven years before mov
ing to southern California.
They have lived at Cave
Junction since 1922.
Guests included the couple's
grandson. Arthur Smith, Mo
desto, Calif., and Mrs. Smith's
sister, Mrs. Una Coveney,
Grants Pass. Also coming
from a distance were Mr. and
Mrs. R. C. Harsh of Cottage
Grove. Many of the guests
were from Cave Junction,
O'Brien, Selma and Grants
Pass.
The couple had one son,
now deceased, who became a
doctor. They have another
I grandson, Walter Smith.

road, Tuesday, August 28, at
8 p.m. Mrs. Lewis Thompson
will be co-hostess. The presi
dent, Mrs. Harry Barneburg,
stressed that it is important
for the members to attend
this meeting as plans will be
discussed for the club's fall
and winter activities.
All visiting past chiefs of
the Pythian orders are invited
to attend the meeting.

ceremony held at 7 o'clock in
the evening, and the bride
was given in marriage by her
father.
For her wedding the bride
chose a cotillion blue suit
with white accessories. Her
corsage was of white phalae
nopsis orchids and to com
plete her ensemble she wore
a short veil and tiara match
ing her suit.
The bride's sister-in-law,
Mrs. Robert Hildenbrandt,
here from Cambodia, Asia,
was matron of honor.
Serving the bridegroom as
best man was G. W. Detrick,
Medford. Miss Patti McCue
and Miss Cheryl Swanson,
Central Point, arranged sum
mer flowers in baskets for the
church decorations.
The matron-of-honor cut
the wedding cake. Mrs. Rob
ert Harris, Grants Pass,
grandmother of the bride
groom, and Miss Bertha Cal
houn, Grants Pass, his cousin,
served punch and coffee.
Among the wedding guests
were Robert Harris, grand
father of the bridegroom, and
Robert Hildenbrandt, brother
of the bride, who is with the
U.S. Stale department in
Cambodia, Asia, and now on
home leave. 1
The newlyweds traveled to
Twin Falls, Idaho and north
ern California on their wed
ding trip. They will live in
Long Beach, Calif.
The bride was graduated
from Crater High school in
1961. The bridegroom, who
attended Grants Pass High
school, is in the United
States Navy and stationed at
