Blue Angels fo
Perform in Eugene
Eugene The Blue Angels,
U.S. demonstration team, will
present air maneuvers at. 2
p.m. (PDT) Saturday and Sun
day, Aug. 25 and 26, at Mah
lon Sweet airport in Eugene.
The team consists of eight
pilots and a supplementary
force of enlisted men to main
tain the aircraft. The planes
flown are FJ1F-1 Tiger Jets.
Sponsoring the demonstra
tion will be the Mahlon Sweet
squadron of the Civil Air Pa
trol' and the Eugene Chamber
of Commerce.

from thousands of throats was

of the signing of the accords
at Evian, France, which end
ed French rule in Algeria and

Oregon, according to the
Keep Oregon Green associa
tion. The association has recom
mended that airhome owners,
and especially those in rural
areas, use a regular incin
erator to burn rubbish. If an
oil drum or other metal con
tainer is used, it should have
a wire mesh window screen
ing spark arrestor covering
the top, the association said.
Ground surrounding the in
cinerator should be cleared
for a distance of at least five
feet in all directions. The in
cinerator should be located
well away from overhanging
tree branches, fences, or other
burnable objects.
For larger fires, a burning
permit should be secured.
Burning should be done in
early morning or late after
noon, and not on a windy day.
Fires should be tended, and
a water supply kept nearby,
according to the association.

This Week's Ranch and Modern Home

Here is a small home that
has most of the comforts and
conveniences of a much larger
home plus a great amount of
charm.
.It is much more difficult to
design a small home than a
larger one. There are only so
many square feet of space and
no matter where this space is
located or how the rooms are
arranged, you always receive
inquiries from prospective
builders, asking why you
didn't design an entirely dif
ferent floor plan.
Hoping to meet the require
ments of more builders, we
have designed three different
floor plans but all with the
same exterior dimensions and
square footage. The illustrated
exterior was drawn of Plan
"A", but exteriors of Plans
"B" and "C" would be the

rangement and the design of
the storage area at the rear
of the carport.
Things In Common
All of the floor plans have
several things in common.
This includes an attractive
carport at the side which
gives the bouse more width
which together with the roof
ed porch and used brick plant
er eliminates it from the
"square box" design usually
associated with most one-bedroom
homes.
A series of storage closets
plus a water heater closet has
been located at the rear of
each carport. A wall furnace
has been specified to provide
heating in all of the plans.
Each layout features a pull
man lavatory plus a wide
I fireplace.
In Plan "A , part of the
wall between the kitchen and
living room has been elimi
nated to form a dining space.
This design has a separate
service area.
An Open Design
Plan "B" is more of an open
design as only cabinets sep
arate the U-shaped kitchen
from the living room. Part
of these cabinets is a long
eating bar. Laundry facilities
have been placed next to the
broom closet and, oven at the
rear of the kitchen. The bed
room in this home is of un
usual size.
In Plan "C", the kitchen is
completely separated from the
living room. Space has been
provided for a nook area. The
bedroom in this design has a
walk-in closet while the other
two designs have wardrobe
closets.
