Obituaries
ROSE BRAY KRAFT
Hornbrook-Mrs. Rose Bray
Kraft, 5S, formerly of Horn
brook, was killed Sunday in
an auto accident near her
home in Colton, Calif.
Mrs. Kraft was born Dec.
31. 1906, in Dorris, Calif. She
was the daughter of Walter
and Lola Bray. The family
moved to Hornbrook when
Mrs. Kraft was 7 years old.
She attended Hornbrook
Grammar school and Yreka
High school. On Feb. 8. 1928.
she was married in Hornbrook
to Guy W. Kraft, who sur
vives. The family moved to Col
ton, Calif., 23 years ago. Mrs.
Kraft was active in the Colton
Methodist church and the Col
ton chapter of the Order of
the Eastern Star. She was a
past worthy matron and past
district deputy grand matron
of the Eastern Star.
One son, Guy Walter Kraft,
preceded her in death in 1949.
Besides her husband, sur
vivors include a son, Gerald
Robert, and grandson, Steven,
both of New York City; four
sisters, Mrs. Henley Clawson
and Mrs. Robert Cummins,
Hornbrook, and Mrs. Albert
Wedin and Mrs. Stanley Bal
frey, Yreka; four brothers,
Walter Bray, Montague; and
George Bray, Gordon Bray,
and Eugene Bray, Yreka; and
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be
held Friday in Colton, Calif.
Services will also be held Sat
urday at 2 p.m. in the Horn
brook Methodist church. The
Rev. Donald D. Donihue of
the Yreka Methodist church
will officiate.
Interment will be in the
family plot In the Henley
Hornbrook cemetery.

Mishaps Reported
To State Police
Several automobile acci
dents were reported to state
police Wednesday.
About 10:30 a.m., an Ever
green bus driven by Frances
Louise Blore, 28, of 2606 Old
Stage rd., Medford, and a sta
tion wagon driven by Larry
Ronald Sloan, 22, Regen,
Nebr., collided on Highway
99 near the South Talent Junc
tion. No injuries were report
ed.
Cars driven by Barney
Georee Anderson, 16, of Yre
ka, Calif., and William Carl
Kerns, 46, of route 1, box 88,
Talent, were involved in an
accident about 9:55 a.m. Wed
nesday north of Talent on
Highway 99.
About 11:10 a.m., state po
lice were notified of a one
car accident west of Eagle
Point on Nick Young rd. A
vehicle driven by William
Graber, 59, of 1517 West Main
St.. Medford, went across the
road and over a bank. Al
though the car turned over,
police said there were no in
juries reported.
Vehicles operated by Del-
mar O. Frederick, 74, of 1945
Taylor rd., Central Point, and
Nancy Frohreich, 38, of 148
Haskell St., Central Point,
were involved in an accident
about 4:25 p.m. Wednesday at
the intersection of Beall lane
and Freeland rd. A passenger
m the Frohreich car, Geor?e
Frohreich, complained of mi
nor injuries, according to po
lice.

A. Hilley of Miami, Fla., was a 3,590-pound elephant. It was
the Hilleys' 17th wedding anniversary. A shipping company
man arrived at 7:30 a.m. with the pachyderm and a bill for
$1,875. The elephant bellowed and so did Hilley. It turned
out that the peanut eater was only borrowed and was the
idea of a joke by neighbors. (UPI)
