Television will explore the
world of economics in an un
precedented series of five suc
cessive evening broadcasts
this week beginning tonight
at 9:30 p.m. on KBES-TV.
Entitled "Money Talks,"
the series is described by
Richard S. Salant,- President
of CBS News, as "a compre
hensive and systematic expo
sition of the major economic
problems facing the United
States today." y
Prof. John F. Coleman of
Carnegie Institute of Technol
ogy, one of the nation's out
standing economics teachers,
will appear" on each broad
cast, and he with other noted
experts will examine the role
of government in. business and
its relationships with the
business community, money
and growth, inflation, credit
and taxes, business profits
and re-investment, and the
international flow of gold.
All of which sounds rather
formidable. But CBS news
chief Washington correspon
dent, David Schoenbrun, will
take each lesson and show how
that lesson applies to each of
us in our daily lives. Draw
ings by artist Joseph DeVoto
and models in plastics and
glass will illustrate various
points using only recognizable
symbols which will communi
cate instantaneously to the
audience.
Highlights on KMED-TV's
"Focal Point" at 4 p.m. daily
include:
Monday. Salute to the ten
Boy Scouts from Mcdford and
Phoenix who will be having
a tour of duty at Seattle's
World Fair.
Tuesday. Here for the
Shakespearean festival, 12
Madrigal singers from Sequoia
High School, Redwood City,
Calif., will perform. Other
guests will be Helen Gordon,
chairman of the governmental
affairs committee of the Ore
gon Association for Retarded
Children and Dr. A. M. Skef-1
fington from Oklahoma who
is giving a seminar for optom-1
etrists of this region.
Thursday. The Shakespear
ean Festival dancers and mu
sicians with choreographer
Mandy Taylor will perform.

This change will automatical
ly affect a'l boat owners.

buoyant cushions with num
bers beginning 180.048 have
the plastic covered inserts.
Models three and five Kapok
preserve are approved, and
Models 52 and 56 fibrous
glass preservers are approv
ed Other model numbers do
not have the required plastic

said.
