Center Activities Outlined

day, August 13, of the Arm
Chair Travel group ot the
Senior Activity center, 601
East Jackson street. The show
ing will begin at 1 p.m.
Miss Bell has made several
trips to European countries in
the interest of young people
there and her pictures include
glimpses into family life and
foreign customs not usually
seen by many tourists.
For this showing Miss Bell
has selected a special trip
down the Dalmatian coast by
boat, through the Adriatic sea
to the southern part of Jugo
slavia, where she stayed in
Dubrovnick, said to be the
most beautiful city on the
Adriatic sea.
From there she traveled by
bus through the countryside
of Jugoslavia up to Sarajevo,
then by train to Belgrade to
bordertowns of Hungary. The
pictures will point up build
ings erected during the 400
years of Turkish occupation,
, an influence which dominates
present development rather
than western Influence.

On Monday, August 13

tee of the Senior Craftsmen
of Orego.i will he at the cen

who wish to sell their hand
craft at the branch shop in

the months of August and

In Monday morning.
Members of the committee
report that 11 local artisans
have been accepted as senior
craftsmen and their work now
is on sale to the public at the
shop. Continuance of the local
blanch is now being consid
ered through the Christmas
holidays.
Advice Given
Many of the 21 applicants
to date are working to pro
duce more saleable articles
with Ihe advice of the jury
and design committee. Most
of those entering the venture
are well trained craftsmen but
some have made articles not
readily saleable to the tourist
or local market.
Committee members point
out that because this project
is to aid senior citizens, ap
plicants should not become
discouraged by Initial rejec
tions by the jury, and point
out that ample opportunity
will be given crafslmen to re
enter crafls al any time.

to leave today after being a
houscguest since Wednesday
of her niece, Mrs. E. W. Han

ville. Miss Earle is en route to Se
attle and after attending the
World's Fair, will leave for
Jasper National Park, Canada.
She will continue her trip to
the New England states and
return to Oakland by way of
the south, through New Or

Boston Symphony Scheduled
Portland The 104-mem-
ber Boston Symphony or
chestra will appear at Port
land's Civic Auditorium on
April 23, 1963, under the
aegis of the Portland Sym
phony society,' according to
society president Fred M.
Buchwalter.
Although the bonus ap
pearance is not part of the
society's forthcoming 12-con-cert
scries, season ticket hold
ers will be entitled to pref
erential seating, Mr. Buch
walter says, with reserva
tions available this fall. The
general public will be offer
ed tickets during December
or January.

for picnics by mixing deviled
ham into the yolks. Halve 6
hardcooked eggs. Remove
yolks, mash them, and blend
with 1 (4 ',i ounce) can of
deviled ham, 1 tablespoon
each of mayonnaise and sweet
pickle relish, and restuff egg
whites. Garnish with strips of

Brother, Sister Are Reunited After 21 Years

Maerz, Blackwell hill road,
recently reunited with her
brother, the Rev. Kenwood D.
Bryant whom she had not
seen for 21 years. The arrival
of her brother and wife, with
their four youngsters Becky,
Kenwood Jr., David and Dan
ny, was a complete surprise.
The minister and his family
had been traveling in the
United States for several
months and were enroute to
their home at Tok, Alaska,

Frosty whip can be made
with an electric blender or a
mixed. Allow 1 pint of vanilla

ver orphanage, and later rear
ed in different homes.

visit in the Rogue Valley next
