Perform Ceremony
Central Point - The father
and the uncle of the bride
groom officiated at the mar
riage of Miss Carolyn H. Rcid
and Paul Vernon Evers, held
Friday, August 3.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Chester H. Reid,
541 Fairmont street, Mcdford,
and the bridegroom's parents
are the Rev. and Mrs. Ernest
E. Evers, Elma, Wash.
The wedding was held in
the Community Bible church
in Central Point, of which the
Rev. Paul O. Kroon, the bride
groom's uncle, is pastor. Mr.
Evers is pastor of the Chris
tian and Missonary Alliance
church in Elma.
The wedding date was the
twenty-sixth wedding anniver
sary of Mr. and Mrs. Walter
L. Sewell, Central Point, close
friends of the bride.
About 200 guests attended
the candlelight ceremony,
held at 8 o'clock in the eve
ning. The altar was decorated
with baskets of white gladioli,
and white bows marked the
pews.
Music was provided by Miss
Dora Mueda, San Francisco,
and Jerry Holdridge, Med
ford. Mrs. Kroon, aunt of the
bridegroom, played the organ
music.
Gown of Satin
The bride was given in mar
riage by her father. She wore
a street length gown of white
satin, brocaded in rose design
and fashioned with scalloped
neckline, lowered waist, and
short sleeves. Her shoulder
length veil was held by
crown of seed pearls, and she
carried a white orchid encir
cled by white carnations and
stcphanotis.
Miss Joanne Hill, Talent,
was maid of honor. Brides
maids were the Misses Dora
Mueda, Beverly Todd, Mcd
ford, and Sharon Thompson,
Central Point. Their frocks
were of cotillion blue satin
with bell shaped skirts. Their
blue tulle veils dotted with
pearls, were held by blue sat
in bows, and they carried cas
cade bouquets of white carna
tions. Other Attendants
Cynthia Moody, Central
Point, was flower girl, and the
Misses Cynthia Smith, Med-
ford, and Grace Evers, sister
of the bridegroom, Elma,
Wash., lighted the candles.
Miss Evers and Miss Smith
wore blue and white print taf
feta frocks, and white carna
tion wristlet corsages.
The Rev. Earl Evers, Ash
land, was best man for his
brother. Seating the guests
were Floyd Evers, Joyce,
Wash., brother of the bride
groom; Brian Sewell, San
Francisco, and Walter L. Sew
ell Jr., Seattle.
The reception was given in
the church rooms. For the
wedding and reception Mrs.
Reid chose a bone colored lace
sheath dress with bone acces
sories and white carnation cor
sage. Mrs. Evers chose a frock
of multi-colored cotton, worn
with white accessories and
white carnation corsage.
Mrs. Wilson Smith, Med
ford, was hostess for the re
ception. Mrs. Donald Claspill,
San Francisco, a sister of the
bridegroom, served cake, and
Mrs. Earl Evers, Ashland
poured punch. Coffee was
served by Mrs. Floyd Evers
Joyce, Wash., and Mrs. Dale
Burns, Mcdford, was in charge
of the guest book. Mrs. Walter
L. Sewell Jr., Seattle, and
Miss Sandy Higin b o t h a m,
Central Point, were at the gift
table.
For a wedding trip to the
Oregon coast, the bride chose
a pink cotton dress with white
accessories, and the orchid
from her bridal bouquet as
corsage.
The bride attended Medford
High school and Simpson
Bible college, San Francisco.
She is now employed by M
and M Agency, Central Point.
The bridegroom attended
Eagle Point High school, and
is employed by Padgham's
Glass and Millwork company
in White City.
The newlywed couple will
make their home at 120 North
Third street, Central Point.

were Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Abrams and family, Price,
Utah, cousins of the bride
groom, and Mr. and Mrs. Rich
ard Ekstedt and family, Cur
acao, Netherlands Antilles,
aunt and uncle of the bride

In Eagle Point
Honors Teacher
Eagle Point - Mrs. N 1 le s
Smith was honored at a social
hour Monday evening by 20
members of the Eagle Point
High School faculty and their
husbands and wives. Mr. and
Mrs. Stewart Hopper were
hosts for the event at their
home, 45 West Sixth street,
Eagle Point.
Mrs. Smith recently re
signed as senior advisor and
instructor of United States
history and American prob
lems at the Eagle Point High
school where she has taught
for the past eight years. Mr.
and Mrs. Smith, who lived in
Medford, moved to Santa
Maria. Calif.. Tuesday, where
they have both accepted teach
ing positions. Mrs. Smitn win
be dean of women at a new
high school and her husband
has accented a fifth grade
leaching position in one of
the elementary schools.
Members of the faculty pre
sented Mrs. Smith with a
white onyx clock and pen
desk set as a farewell gift.

turned recently from a trip to
Seattle, and traveled back to
the valley with her sisters.

the week after a two-week va
cation in California. At San
Jose they were guests of tlirir
son and daughter-in-law, Dr.
and Mrs. William Hess and

Dr. Hess, graduate of Mcd
ford High school and Washing
ton Stale college velerinary
school, owns and operates an
animal hospital in San Jose.

spent some time in San Fran
cisco and returned by way of
the Redwood highway.

which the recently traveled to Nattau. Mitt Barker vitited

Shakespearean Musicians
To Give Concert Today
Ashland - The second In a
series of Sunday concerts
sponsored and produced by
the Oregon Shakespearean
Festival musicians and singers
will be held this afternoon in
the Old Presbyterian church
across from the Plaza in Ash
land. Both singers and musicians
will be featured at this con
cert, which was postponed
from last Sunday due to the-
pressures of rehearsals for the
recently opened special music-
dance production: "A Thieves
Ballad."

of William E. Hall in a cere
money held July 25 in Port
land. Sidney Bartels, justice
of the peace, officiated and
the service was held at his
home.
The bride is the daughter
of Mrs. Bertha Hanscom, 5367

Point. Mr. Hall is a son of
Mrs. Edward Hall, Medford
and the late Mr. Hall. For
the marriage ceremony the
