Jack Lynch Jr., son of Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Lynch, Fort
Jones, Calif., in 3:30 o'clock
afternoon rites July 22 in the
Medford Seventh-day Adven
tist church.
The bride and her family
lived here six years before
moving about two years ago
to Portland.
Elder Floyd Bresee per
formed the ceremony, and
Mr. Wilbur gave his daugh
ter in marriage.
The bride wore a gown of
white net and lace with three
quarter length lace sleeves
and round neckline. Her elbow-length
veil was held by
Hanson Show
Will Open
Festival
Ashland-Philip Hanson has
left for New Bedford, Mass.,
where he will open that city's
summer festival with a per
formance of his one-man dra
matic performance, "Moby
Dick," Monday, August 6.
This will be the third time
that the actor has presented
his one-man shows in New
Bedford.
The festival program in
cludes symphony orchestra
performances, art shows, the
folk singer, Tom Glazer, who
features sea chanteys, and
other attractions. It will end
with a showing of the film,
"Moby Dick" which stars
Gregory Peck. This film was
premiered in New Bedford,
the city which Arthur Herman
Melville chose for his novel
which has become an Ameri
can classic and on which Mr.
Hanson bases his show.
Mr. Hanson will present his
show in the New Bedford
whaling museum with the
half-scale size model of the
"Lagoda" as a setting and
with the audience seated all
around.
The actor states that the
people of New Bedford hope
to form a link with the past
by means of the summer fes
tival. Election Slated

day, August 9, at 7:30 p.m.

hostess for the evening. Roll

may we, as women in the
church, show our light?"

Jones, and Keith Zaugg, Wal
la Walla college, College
Place, Wash.
The reception was held at
the Rogue River academy
lawn. About 350 guests at
tended. The couple made their wed
ding trip to San Francisco to
attend the General Confer
ence session of Seventh-day
Adventist.
The bride is a senior stu
dent at Walla Walla college
in home economics education.
The bridegroom also attended
the same college and the Ore
gon Technical Institute from
which he graduated. He is a
surveyor.

ing a Junior Boatman's Safe
ty course to all campers and
staff. Seventy girls are taking
the course which is given in
conjunction with the Klam
Falls sheriff's office.
Lisbeth Russel, assistant
waterfront director, is in
structing the course and is
assisted by Lewis Bougart,
deputy sheriff. The course
consists of eight half -hour
classes.
