Wreckage of Navy
Patrol Plane Found
Manila -Wll - The Navy an
nounced that the wreckage of
a patrol plane missing with 13
persons aboard was sighted to
day on a mountain in the
northern Philippines.
A Navy spokesman said
there was no immediate word
regarding possible survivors.
The plane, a P5M, had been
missing since Wednesday
night when it failed to return
from a routine patrol mission.
Two U.S. military search
planes "positively identified
the missing aircraft," the
Navy said.
The wreckage was sighted
at about the 2,000-foot level
of the mountain in northern
Luzon, northernmost point in
the Philippines and about 80
miles north of Manila.

About six months ago he in

since then we've had several

My brother is after me to
break off with Norman be
cause he's a married man.
But Norman confided to me
that he's no longer in love
with his wife and that it's all
over between them. They're

riage. So I can't see where
it's so terrible for me to be
going out with him. If he
wasn't entertaining me, he'd
be taking out someone else.
He has even broached the
idea of my marrying him
when the divorce is definite, i
Howard A My sister
must be growing soft in the j
head. Here she is. still young
and beautiful, yet wasting i
precious weeks when she !
might be meeting truly eli
gible men. Instead she spends
her evenings with a man who,
far from being free, isn't
even legally separated yet.
So in addition to it being
fruitless for Eloise to see
Norman, it's Immoral.
Doesn't she realize that she
should be sending that man
back to his wife, not encour-!
aging him in his derelic
tions? And even if he insists I
his marriage is over, anything i
can happen. His old love for
his family may reawaken at 1
any time, and then Where's !
Eloise? Out in the cold. She
should wash her hands of the
whole mess right now.
The Council: Upon Howard
falls the thankless task of
saying words Eloise knows
herself but doesn't want to
hear. So all we can do is ditto
them and urge her to listen.
The only hint of a "pro"
side to all this is that Eloise's
investment of time and
energy and emotion may be '
adding to her know-how in
conducting 'herself with
man. Then, too, there's the j
"fighting chance" that if Nor- 1
man should ever be really ;
free, he'll seek her out as his !
next. j
But counter balancing
those notions heavily are the j
practical and the moral as- j
pects of l affalre Norman, j
Howard lists some of them.
There's always the chance
that Norman will reconcile I
with his wife. There's also
the likelihood that Norman is j
"looking over" other candi-!
dates, possibly even younger !
ones, for filling the coming
void. In any event, with no
real claim and no hold on
the man. Eloise is a sitting
duck for a double cross.
Worse, she is contributing
to the break-up of a home
which might possibly have a
chance of holding together.
If Norman as a married man
were suitably rebuffed in his
efforts to play p.K-a-cnke with
other women, he'd have to
come clean and apply his ef
forts either to repairing his
marriage or ending it legally.
His dates at this point might
be with a marriage counsel
lor, rather than with Eloise.
So, regardless of how at
tractive Norman appears to
her, Eloise must look behind
the facade and see the big
smoky letters which spell out
danger. Even the eventual
"happy" ending she envisages
now, that of becoming Nor
man's wife, may well turn
sour. Just as her two-times his
present wife, revealing a
lack of scruples to both wom
en (and perhaps others), he
can grow out of "love" with
her and set forth on a prowl
for No. 3, with no effort to
work things nut.
As still "young and beau
tiful." Eloise, you can spend
your dating hours to better
advantage. Line up a few legi
timate suitors. Drop Norman
cold rather than risk being
"out in the cold" yourself.
