were married July 14 in 7:30
o'clock evening rites in the
Ashland Faith Tabernacle.
The Rev. Leo Wine performed
the double rinR ceremony in
the presence of about 150
guests.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. E. Warren
Mapes, 954 B street, Ashland,
and the bridreroom's parents
are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frank
lin, 316 Patterson street, Ash
land. ,
The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, wore. a
floor length gown of silk or
ganza over taffeta with
Basque bodice. The bateau
neckline was trimmed with
appliques of Alencon lace m
scroll design and embroidered
with pearls and sequins. The
lace appliques were repeated
on the front of the bouffant
skirt, and the chapel train
fell from a pouf bustle. Her
elbow length veil was of silk
illusion' and was held by a
miniature crown of pearls and
sequins encircled with tulle
Insertion.
The bridal bouquet was of
blue carnations and white
rosebuds and with it the bride
carried an heirloom handker
chief which had been carried
by her great grandmother, her
grandmother and mother on
their wedding days.

Miss Phyllis Mapes was
honor attendant for her sister
and bridesmaids were Miss
Joyce Mitchell, a sister of the
bridegroom. Miss Mary
James, Applegate, and Miss
Karen Herndon, Grants Pass.
Miss Mapes and Miss James
wore blue chiffon gowns and
Miss Herndon and Miss Milch
ell's gowns were of white cot
ton. All carried nosegays of
blue carnations and white
gladioli.
Susie James, the ring bear
er, wore a frock of white
glazed cotton with blue chif
fon draped collar. Sheryl
Mitchell, who was flower girl,
wore a blue and white nylon
dress and she carried a basket
of blue hydrangeas. Both had
wristlets of blue and white
carnations.
Kenneth Mitchell was best
man for his brother.
Baskets of white gladioli
and white rosebuds with
greenery decorated the
church. Mrs. James Hohbs,
organist, and Mrs. Robert Por
ter, a cousin of the bride
groom, soloist, both of Med
ford, furnished -the wedding
music.
The bride s mother wore an
aquamarine Jersey dress with
bone colored accessories, and
the bridegroom's mother chose
a gray suit with black acces
sories. Both had white carna
tion corsages .
The reception was held in
the church reception room
decorated with baskets of
rnscburis and greenery. Mrs
Herbert Taylor cut and served
the wedding cake and Mrs.
Walter Eidman presided at
the punch howl. Miss Bonita
Wine wa in charge of the
Burst book and Miss Sandra
MrPhcrsnn at the gift table.

is employed at the Newbry
orchards and packing house.
The couple left for their
wedding trip to Dog Lake.
Ore. The bride s traveling at
tire was a blue suit with white
accessories and the rosebud
corsage was from her wedding
bouquet.
For the present they are liv
ing at 357 Vista avenue,
Apartment 4, Ashland, and
this fall they will live in Red
ding when the bridegroom
will enroll at the college.

13 in a wedding ceremony
held In the home of the
bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Milton Kennedy, Cave
Junction.
The bridegroom is a son
of Mrs. Margie Dixon, Kerby.
The rites were read by
Laurence Cushing, justice of 1 1
the peace at 8 o'clock in the
evening, before the fireplace
decorated with white gladioli.
Fifteen guests, members of
the bride and bridegroom's
families, attended.
Miss Maureen Kennedy
was bridesmaid for her sister,
and Ernest Neil of Takilma,
Ore., was best man.
The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, wore a
ballerina length gown de
signed with full taffeta skirt
and bodice of lace. A queen's
crown of seed pearls held her
fingertip length veil and she
carried a bouquet.
The maid of honor wore a '
lavender taffeta gown. i
The reception, given by the 1
bride's family, was held In
their home.
The couple will live
In Kerby.
The bride attended Kerby i
schools and the Illinois Val- i
ley High school, and the bride
groom also attended Kerby
schools. He Is associated with
the Illinois Valley Logging
company. ,

The Rev. Donald Mainvar-
ing conducted the double ring
ceremony at 8 o'clock in the
evening. Baskets of white
and orchid colored gladioli
decorated the sanctuary.
Richard Michealcs, Med-
ford, was soloist, and was ac
companied on the organ by
Miss Karen Patterson.
Mr. Schultz gave his daugh
ter in marriage. She was
gowned in tiered Chantilly
lace, fashioned with an over
skiri of silk organza. The
overskirt was caught up at
intervals with white roses,
and the gown was styled with
a chapel train. Her elbow
length veil was held by a
cluster of white roses, and
she carried a lavender1 orchid
encircled by stephanotis.

the bride's honor attendant.
She wore a lilac satin frock
with bell skirt and lace cov
ered bodice. Her small pill
box hat held a bridesmaid's
veil, and she carried a nose
gay of lilac colored gladioli.
Cheryl Lynn Schultz, small
sister of the bride, was flower
girl. She wore a frock of
white lace over lilac satin,
and carried a basket of white
rose petals.
Roger Lefler, Grants Pass,
brother of the bridegroom,
was best man. Guests were
seated by Delbert Schultz,
Rogue River, brother of the
bride, Philip Wickum, and
Michael Lehman.
For her daughter's wed
ding and the reception which
followed in Barnett hall of
the church, Mrs. Schultz
chose a dress of rose lace over
satin, and a rose colored glad
ioli corsage.
Miss Lynetle Lefler cut
and served the wedding cake,
and Miss Nancy Olafson serv
ed the punch. Also assisting
with the reception were Mrs.
Morris Jones and Mrs. Ben
Brittsan, both aunts of the
bride, and Arthur Schultz.

Mrs. Lefler wore an apricot
colored suit with white ac

shoulder length veil was held
by a tiara of crystals, and she
carried a bouquet of white
carnations.
Miss Diana Mae Savage, a
sister of the bridegroom, at
tended the bride. Her frock
was pink nylon, and she wore
white accessories and a white
carnation corsage.

has been her sister, Mrs. Carl
Johnston, from Des Moines,
Iowa. While In the Rogue val
ley, Mrs. Johnston visited

Mrs. Lloyd Dusenberry, Sams
Valley, and Mr. and Mrs. Al
bert Gascon, Gold Hill.
During her stay she visited
Crescent City, Calif., Crater
Lake National park and
Jacksonville as well as other
points of Interest in the area.
It was the first time in 15
years that Mrs. Johnston had
been to Oregon.
En route to Gold Hill, Mrs.
Johnston was a guest of Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Bradwell and
family, and saw the World's
Fair In Seattle, Wash. Mr.
Bradwell Is a brother of Mrs.
Dorman and Mrs. Johnston.
She Is now visiting at
El Monte, Calif., at the home
of another niece and fnmlly,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bur
nette, unlil August 1, when
she will leave for her home
