Carpenters Denied

permission to ignore the Iron
Workers strike and return to
their jobs, it was announced
Thursday.
The Coast-Willamette dis
trict council ol carpenters last
night turned down the Cor
vallis local's request, Council
President Lawrence F. Wil
son, Lebanon, said.
The council met at Corval
lis and discussed the request
with the carpenters. The vote
was four to one to deny the
request.
The council is composed of
representatives of the Carpen
ters locals at Salem. Albany,
Eugene, Newport and Cor
vallis. It was not known whether
the Corvallis group would
carry their appeal to the in
ternational headquarters.

The six areas where entry
permits from a state or fed
eral fire warden will be re
quired are:
Summer Lake rim, the
western tide of the lake, in
Lake county: south fork of
the Clackmas river. Clack
mas county: Corvallis water
shed area In Benton county;
Eckman mountain area in
western Lincoln county; Cape
Creek area, western Lane
county, and Wood Road No. 1
area, southwest of Bend, Des
chutes county.
Thit brings to seven the
number of areas under per
mit entry. The seventh is the
Willow Lake area near Butte
Falls in Jackson county. Per
