OBITUARIES
EDGAR J. FELDMAN
Funeral services for Edgar
J. Feldman, 75, of 201 Canon
st., who died at home Satur
day, will be held at 10 a.m.
Tuesday at the Perl Funeral
Home. The Rev. Harvey C.
Coovert, pastor of the Zion
Lutheran church, will offici
ate. Interment will be in Sis
kiyou Memorial Park.
Mr. Feldman, the son of
Charles Feldman and Minnie
Brandt, was born on May 2,
1887 at St. Peter, Minn. For
several years, he was active
in construction work in Spo
kane, Washington. In 1921, he
came to Medford where he
was a construction contractor
for a short time. He then
opened an appliance store at
Main and Bartlett st., which
in recent years was known as
Feldman & Olson Appliance.
He retired in 1954. He was
confirmed in the English Lu
theran church and was a vet
eran of World War I. He was
a member of the Medford
Elks Lodge, Kiwanis Club,
and the American Legion.

San Francisco, he was mar
ried to Marguerite T. Cooke,
who survives. Other survivors
include one brother, Carl B.
Feldman, Clearwater, Flor
ida; one sister, Mrs. Melville
Davis, St. Peter, Minn., and
several nieces and nephews.
Fall bearers will be Edward
Leach, Roland A. Smith, Cole
Holmes, Fred Sweeney,
Marine Olson and Clarence
Fry.
Friends, who wish, may
make a contribution to the
heart fund.

Funeral services for Rich
ard W. Mundlin, 70, of 816
Bennett St., Medford, who
died Friday, will be held at
a.m. Monday in Hillcrest
Chapel on the north Phoenix
rd. with Conger - Morris Fu
neral directors in charge. The
Rev. Bernard Andrews of the
First Baptist church will of
ficiate. Committal will be in
Hillcrest Memorial park.
Mr. Mundlin was born Oct.
26, 1891, in Omaha, Neb. He
had lived in Klamath Falls
before moving to Medford in
1951. He was married Nov.
18, 1912, in Red Oak, Iowa,
to Hazel D. Smith, who pre
ceded him In death.
Survivors include four sons,
Ralph L. Mundlin, Central
Point, Richard W. Mundlin,
Klamath Falls, Jay W. Mund
lin, Denver, Colo., Robert S.
Mundlin, Wichita Falls, Tex.;
one brother, Guss Mundlin,
Omaha, Neb., and 15 grand
children. Casket bearers will be from
the First Baptist church.
Age Church, Eagle Point, will
officiate. Interment will be in
the Trail Cemetery.
Mrs. Chamberlain, the
daughter of John B. Ross and
Nancy C. Jackson, was born
on August 28, in Gravette, Ar
kansas. She has lived in Ore
gon for the last sixty years
and in Medford for the past
thirty-five years. She was a
member of the Methodist
church.
On December 30, 1893, at
Neho, Arkansas, she was mar
ried to Lyman A. Chamber
lain, who died in 1941.
Survivors include five sons.

berlain, Baker, Oregon; Plez
Chamberlain, Central Point;
Lon Chamberlain, Rogue
River; two daughters, Mrs.

grandchildren and 35 great
grandchildren. Two sons pre
ceded her in death. Norman
Chamberlain died in 1939 and
Bert Chamberlain died in
1948.

for Mrs. Delia Laverne Whis
nant, 61, who died Thursday
in Ashland, will be held Mon
day, June 29, In Litwiller's
Mountain View chapel. The

Mountain View cemetery.
Mrs. Whisnant moved to
Ashland from Klamath Falls
eight years ago.
She is survived by a sis
ter, Mrs. Walter Stringer,
Boise, Idaho, and a niece, Mrs.
Jake Nelson, Medford.

stolen from near the West i

fairgrounds Friday night.

burned Saturday morning be
fore firemen extinguished the
blaze. Cause of the fire, re
ported at 11:11 a.m., was un
known. Owner of the prop

Gat Ignited - Gas leaking
from a dryer apparently ig
nited, causing a fire in the
jail section of the Jackson
County court. louse on Friday
night. Three Medford fire de
partment trucks responded to
the 7:11 p.m. alarm. There
was little vi " damage.

Pioneer Sites Foundation will
hold a board meeting Tues
day, June 26, at 7:30 p.m. in
the U.S. Hotel in Jacksonville.

Funeral services for God
fnd S. Ackcrlund, 87, of 723
West Second st., who died
Tuesday will be held at 10
a.m. Monday at the Perl Fu
neral home. Dr. D. K. West,
pastor of the First Presby
terian church, will officiate.
Interment, at Siskiyou Memo
rial park, will be private.
Mr. Ackerlund, the son of
Per Ackerlund and Caroline
Stolberg, was born on Jan. 16,
1875, in Stockholm, Sweden.
He came to the United States
at the age of 19 and entered
the University of Montana at
Missoula. On May 10, 1898,
while still a student at the
university, he enlisted in the
3rd Regiment of the U. S.
Army Cavalry, during the
Spanish-American War . He
was discharged on Sept. 8,
1898.
In July of 1900, in Montana,
he wai married to Essie R.
Mackey, who died at Ask.
Wash., in 1929. He was a for
mer member of the Swedish
Lutheran church, IOOF lodge
and Eagles lodge
Survivors include one son
Raymond R. Ackerlund, Spo
kane, Wash.; two daughters,
Mrs. Ruth H. Boyd, Medford;
Mrs. Beatrice Corum, Med
ford; one brother. Otto Acker
lund, Sweden; five grandchil
dren and eight great-grandchildren.
Honorary bearers will be
members of the V. A. domicil
iary honor guard.
