Methodist church, Medford.

double-ring communion cere
mony at two o'clock In the
afternoon.
The bride is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. William D.
Mearns, 384 Holly street, Ash
land, and the bridegroom is a
son of Mr. and Mrs. R. C.
Stemple, 355 Scenic drive,
Ashland.
More than 150 guests were
present for the ceremony and
the reception which followed
at the church.
The bride's gown, made by
her mother, was of Chantilly
lace over taffeta, fashioned
with long sleeves, fitted bodice
trimmed with pearls and iri
descent sequins and very full
skirt extending into a short
train. The skirt was caught
up in back with a satin bow.
The bride's elbow-length tulle
: veil was held by a pearl
crown and she carried three
white orchids and carnations
in a cascade.
Coins Used
For the traditional "some
thing old" the bride wore a
coin in each shoe, one an
1852 gold piece loaned by
; Mrs. C. D. Winston and the
, other a sixpence given to her
by Leon Mulling. Both are
family friends.
Miss Linda Lewis was the
bride's honor attendant and

Mr. Stemple and his bride
made their wedding trip to
San Francisco the bride wear
ing a pink and white checked
suit and the orchid from her
bridesmaids were the Misses bridal bouauet. The bride was

They wore identical petal-

bride. The honor attendant's
gown was of a darker shade.
All the attendants carried
nosegays of orchid and white
gladiolus and ivy.
Rhonda and Dian Demo,
candlelighlcrs, wore identical
dresses of orchid dotted Swiss
with matching satin cummer
bunds and Pamela Demo, who
took charge of the gifts, wore
a white sheath frock.
Mr. Mearns gave his daugh
ter in marriage and Ryle
Stemple, Corvallis, was best
man for his brother, Ushers
were David Stemple, Klamath
Falls, brother of the bride'
groom, Robert Klimas, cousin
of the bride from Great Falls
Mont., Braehm Woodell and
Alan McKinnls, Medford.
Mrs. D. G. MacDougall sang
the wedding prayers, and
Mrs. Leslie Boardman was at
the organ.
Large baskets of while
gladiolus provided a setting
for the bridal party, and the
pew ends were marked with
white satin bows.
For the wedding and recep
tion the bride's mother wore
a light cotton knit sheath and
matching jacket in oatmeal
shade, with matching straw
hat and accessories. The bride
groom's mother was attired in
a pink embroidered cotton
satin sheath with matching
ribbon hat and purse. Both
wore orchid corsages.
Society Assists
The Woman's Society of the
church were hostesses for the
receptioii. Flowers for the re
ception tables were from the
gardens of Mrs. Ruth Dews,
Mrs. Grace Turner and Mrs.
Joe Fader. Cutting the wed
ding cake and pouring were
the Misses Jacquie Fasque.

Assisting at the church were
school and later attended
Southern Oregon college and
Oregon State university. The
bridegroom also attended Ash
land High school and Oregon
State university and is em
ployed by the United States
Forest service. The couple
will live Bt the Seven Mile
Guard station, Ft. Klamath,
Ore.

Mrs. Dale A. Roper of San
Jose, Calif., who were present
for the wedding.
The bride, given in mar
riage by her father, wore an
orchid lace over taffeta sheath
dress with elbow length
sleeves and round neck which
formed a vee in back. Her
short veil was held by an
orchid satin crown trimmed
with iridescent crystals. Her
flowers were white carnntions,
centered with an orchid.
Mrs. Cecil Van Horn of
Gold Hill, brides matron,
wore a white and sapphire
blue figured silk sheath dress white satin bows. Silver
with sapphire blue shoes and , candlesticks with white tapers

nation corsage. Mrs. Roper
chose navy blue with white
hat and accessories, and her
corsage was of pink and white
carnations.
The ceremony took place
before a white lattice covered
with yellow roses and Ivy. A
large bell of shirred white
satin and net was suspended
over the bride's table, which
was covered with a silver edg
ed white net cloth over or

ceremony held June 16 at
Murphy chapel In Murphy.
The Rev. Garland Shinn,
Gold Hill, American Sunday
School Union missionary, of
ficiated at the eight o'clock
evening rites.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a floor
length gown of white peau de
soie with chapel train. Her
veil was fingertip length and
she carried a bouquet of

roses.
Miss Kathy Simer was hon
or attendant for her sister.
Bridesmaids were Miss Joanne
Kroeker, Belgium; Miss
Yvonne Cox, Grants Pass, and
Miss Helen Vickorcn, Eagle
Point. Flower girl was Shar-
ron Stubbs, cousin of the
bride. They wore frocks of
white lace over blue satin
and carried heart-shaped bou
quets of white roses and pale
pink carnations.
Jim Gleason, Portland,
brother-in-law of the bride
groom, served as best man,
and seating the guests were
Robert and Jack Powell, Port
land, cousins of the bride
groom, and Floyd Row, Red
ding. The candles were light
ed by Steven Simer, brother
of the bride, and Larry Par
sons. Bouquets of red roses and
greenery decorated the chapel
for the wedding. Mrs. Harold
Anderson played the organ
wedding music.
Following the ceremony a
reception was held in the
church reception room. The
couple traveled to the coast
on their wedding trip and will
make their home in Anderson,
Calif., after August 15.
The bride attended Biola
college, Los Angeles, and Mr.
Powell attended Bob Jones
university. He is principal of
Shasta Christian school.

Gail became the bride of Leroy
Willard Johnson in a cere
mony held Saturday after
noon, June 16 at Community
Methodist church in Gold
Hill. The Rev. Lochlen L.
Gregory, pastor, officiated at
the 2 o'clock double ring cere
mony attended by 125 rela
tives and friends. The bride is
a daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Norman Gail, Gold
Hill and the bridegroom is a
son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard
Leroy Johnson, Portland. The
date chosen for the wedding
was also the bride's birthday
anniversary.
The wedding color theme
was pink and white. The
church was decorated with ar
rangements of pink peonies,
white Fster Reed daisies,
white peach bells and mock
orange in tall baskets. White
tapers in candelabra had a
background of white pleated
material trimmed with Port
Orford cedar boughs. White
satin bows decorated the pew
ends, and tiny while wedding
bells used with the cedar ac
cented the arch of each win
dow. Mrs. Robert C. Gail, Rogue
River, aunt of the bride, play
ed the organ, and a hymn was
sung by everyone.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a bill
owing floor length gown of
white silk organza over taf
feta designed with taffeta
brocade over skirt that ended
in a chapel length train. The
fitted bodice was fashioned
with a wide taffeta sash that
crossed in back,' and heart-
shaped designs trimmed the
neckline. Her fingertip illu
sion veil was held by a crown
designed of seed pearls, and
she carried a colonial bouquet
of white carnations and pink
rosebuds. The bride made her
wedding dress.
Miss Nancy Chaney, Eu
gene, was maid-of-honor. She
wore a dress of white nylon
chiffon fashioned with bouf
fant skirt. Her hat and satin
pumps were pink and she car
ried a small colonial bouquet

The newlyweds traveled to
the San Juan islands for their
wedding trip. The,bride wore
a white suit.
The couple will reside in
Portland. The bride, a mem
ber of a well known Gold Hill
family, is a graduate of Crater
High school and the Univer
sity of Oregon, Eugene. In the
fall she will return to her
position as teacher of the
third grade in the Parkrose
Elementary school system.
The bridegroom was grad
uated from Oregon Stata
University, Corvallis, and is a
mechanical engineer for U.S.
Corps of Army Engineers.

The bride's table was covered
with a white lace cloth over
pink and was centered with
the wedding cake flanked by
pink tapers in silver holders.
Baskets of spring flowers with
shades of pink predominating
decorated the reception room.
The Woman's Society of the
church took charge of ar
rangements for the reception.

Dorman and Mrs. Albert Gas
con were in charge of all flor
al arrangements for the wedT
ding and reception. Mrs. Roy
Eskew made the wedding
cake.
In addition to the tradi
tional first bite of wedding
cake shared by the bridal
couple, punch was sipped by
each from a unique miniature
silver loving cup. As the cup
was tipped, a tiny bell
tinkled.
Miss Elizabeth McEntire,
Canyon City, cut the wedding
cake. Mrs. Budd W. Gail, Med
ford, aunt of the bride, served
the cake. Mrs. Marvin Thomp
son, Portland, poured coffee
aud Miss Joyce Johnson, Port
land, sister of the bridegroom,
presided at the punch bowl.
Miss Barbara Agee, Portland,
attended the guest book and
Miss Rose M. Drake, Gold
Hill, took charge of the gift
table. Miss McEntire, Mrs.
Thompson and Miss Agee are
former college roommates of
the bride.
For her daughter's wedding
and reception Mrs. Gail wore
a blue lace dress with white
accessories and white carna
tion corsage. The bride
groom's mother wore a beige
silk suit and pink accessories.
