board feet of National Forest
timber in the Trail Creek
area, Applcgate Ranger dis
trict, Rogue River National
Forest.
Forest Supervisor C. E.
Brown reported the high bid
totaled $39,171.75. This com
pares with the Forest Service
appraised price of $39,169.50
Next high bidder In the oral
auction was Kogap Manufac
turing company of Medford.
The timber in this unit con
sisted of 1,450,000 board feet
of Douglas fir, bid at $24.90
per thousand; 170,000 board
feet of sugar pine and ponder
nsa pine bid at $15.30; and 45,
000 board feet of white fir
and other species bid at $10.30
per thousand board feet.
Fir-ply Inc., of Medford,
was high bidder for 1,020,000
board feet in the Highway
Select No. 2 area, Union Creek
Ranger district. The high bid
totaled $49,597.10. This com
pares with the Forest Service
appraised price for the timber
of $22,789.40, an increase of
118 per cent. Next high bid
der was Louis Bidcn Logging
Inc., of Prospect.
Other bidders were Kogap
Mfg. company, Cliff Green,
Olson-Lawyer Lbr. Inc., Mc-
Cormick Trucking, and C. M.
and D. Logging. The timber in
this unit consisted of 926,000
board feet of Douglas-fir bid
at $52.45 per thousand; 52,000
board feet of sugar r'.ne nnd
pondcrosa pine bid ui $13.80
per thousand; and 42,000
board feet of white fir and
other species bid at $7.40 per
thousand board feet.

was high bidder June 15 for
1,450,000 board feet of Na
tional Forest timber In the
Beaver Fork area, Butte Falls
Ranger district. The bid to
taled $11,399 This compares
with the USFS appraised
price of $11,381.50.

ber in this unit consisted of
840,000 board feet of Douglas
for bid at $9.35 per thousand;
260,000 board feel of ponde
