Miines-Ray Ceremony
Held in Forest Grove
A wedding of interest here
was an event of June 10 in
the Methodist church of For
est Grove. Miss Loretta Ray
of that city became the bride
of Gregory Earl Milnes, the
ton of Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Milnes, 15 North Groveland
avenue, in a three o'clock
afternoon ceremony. Mr. and
Mrs. Myron Ray, Forest
Grove, are the bride's parents.
The Rev. Carl Mason, Meth
odist minister, and the Rev.
Vincent Crane, Forest Grove
Congregational minister, offi
ciated at the double ring rites.
The couple recited the service
from memory. The Rev. Mr.
Crane is a family friend of the
bride.
Among the 275 relatives
and friends attending the
wedding and reception which
followed at the church were
a number from Medford in
cluding the bridegroom's par
ents. Pink peonies and can
dles and white gladioli decor
ated the church. Miss Gayle
Emerson, Sandy, Alpha Chi
Omega sorority sister of the
bride, was soloist and the Rev.
Mr. Mason sang the wedding
prayer. Organist was Mrs.
James Warren, Forest Grove.
Wort White Taffeta
The bride wore a floor
length gown of white taffeta
fashioned with fitted bodice,
three - quarter length sleeves
and full pleated skirt. The
bodice and skirt were ap
pliqued with white organdy
flowers and her elbow-length
tulle veil was held by, a white
organdy and pearl headdress.
Her flowers were stephanotis
and white roses encircling a
pink throated white cymbi
dium orchid.
Mr. Ray escorted his daugh
ter to the altar and gave her
inlmarriage. For something old
she carried an heirloom hand
kerchief which had been car
ried by her maternal grand
mother at her wedding 50
years ago and the sixpence in
her shoes had been brought
from England by the bride
groom. Her single strand of
pearls was a gift from the
bridegroom.

Twelfth Night Revel Set
For Shakespearean Company
Ashland A break from te-
hearsals and technical duties
will be afforded the company
of the Oregon Shakespearean
Festival Monday evening, as
Mrs. Julie Tummers, owner
of Mon Desir Dining inn at
Central Point is hostess to
the group for the annual
"Twelfth Night Revel."
Nearly 100 company mem
bers will relax in the Euro
pean atmopDhere of the noted
Rogue Valley dining estab
lishment. The yearly event comes 12
nights after the present com
pany met for the first time,
hence the name "Twelfth
Nmht Revel." Now a firmly
established tradition with
Mrs. Tummers and the Fes
tival, the "Revel" will come
after many arduous days and
nights of auditions, casting
and blocking rehearsals.
The 1962 season of the Ore
gon Shakespearean Festival
will run from July 21-Septem-
ber 2, and will feature: "Com
edy of Errors," "Henry IV,
Part 2", "As You Like It",
"Coriolanus," and "A Thieves
Ballad".
Susan Knight
Is Graduated
Miss Susan Knight, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. R. B.
Knight, 2115 East Jackson
street, who was graduated
Sunday from the University
of Oregon, arrived home Mon
day evening. The graduate
majored in business adminis
tration and now is employed
at the First National bank,
Medford branch. Miss Knight
is a member of the Alpha
Delta Pi sorority.

Robert O'Harra and daugh
ters, Kathleen and Laurie,
Tolman Creek road are vaca
tioning along the California
and Oregon coast.

Miss Karen Myers, Corval

bride was maid of honor.
Other attendants were Miss
Kareen Zumwalt, Forest
Grove, fiancee of the bride'i
brother; Miss Gwen Rheutan,
Salem, and Miss Carol John
son, Portland, and Mrs. John
Stevens, Beaverton, both sor
ority sisters of the bride. Miss
Victoria Milnes, Medford, sis
ter of the bridegroom, was
junior bridesmaid.
Azalea Pink Frocks
They wore identical frocks
of azalea pink silk shantung
with matching miniature pill
box hats holding circular veils
and matching pink slippers.
Their flowers were miniature
pink rosebuds. Miss Milnes'
frock had a petal overskirt.
Candlelighters were Miss
Sylvia Tackeuchi, Salem, and
Miss Martha Boyer, John Day,
sorority sisters of the bride.
Their frocks were identical to
the other attendants' but in
white.
James Busch, Ashland, Phi
Delta Theta fraternity brother
of the bridegroom, served as
best man. Ushers were Ron
ald Ray, Forest Grove,
brother of the bride; Dan
Christensen, Springfield; and
O r 1 n Ormsbee, Salem, and
Michael Dowsett, Port land,
both fraternity brothers of the
bridegroom.
Mrs. Ray wore for her
daughter's wedding a blue
silk shantung dress with
matching blue flowereded hat
accessories. Her corsage was
an orchid. Mrs. Milnes chose
a turquoise silk sheath jacket
dress with matching petal hat
and accessories. Her corsage
was a pink orchid.
Guest Hostesses
Members of the Wesleyan
Service guild were hostesses
for the reception held at the
church. Among the Medford
residents who assisted were
Mrs. Robert Voegtly, god
mother of the bridegroom,
and Mrs. Steven Hensel, aunt
of the bridegroom, who cut
and served the wedding cake.
Mrs. George Wajson and Mrs.
Walter Wilson, aunts of the
bridegroom, presided at the
punch bowls and Miss Lou
Elsa Voegtly, was in charge
of the guest book.
The bride and bridegroom
drank a wedding toast from
the marriage cup which had
been used by the bride
groom s parents at their 25th
wedding anniversary.
Members of the wedding
party and out of town rela
tives were guests at a buffet
supper at the Ray home fol
lowing the reception.
Home In Salem
The newlyweds traveled to
San Francisco on their wed
ding trip, the bride wearing
for traveling a beige suit with
beige and orange accessories
and a tangerine carnation cor
sage. They will make their
home In Salem the latter part
of June.
The bride is a graduate of
Forest Grove High school and
Willamette university and is
employed as a physical thera
pist at the Oregon State hos
pital in Salem. She is affili
ated with Alpha Chi Omega
and received her degree in
psychology. Mr. Milnes, a
member of Phi Delta Theta
fraternity, is a graduate of
Medford High school and
Willamette university and is
attending W i 1 lamette uni
versity College of Law. He
received his degree in eco
nomics and is on the an
nouncing staff of radio station
KBZY in Salem.
Both the bride and bride
groom received one of the
ten "Key awards" given to
outstanding graduates of Wil
lamette university in 1961.

came the bride of John S.
Neal in 4 o'clock afternoon
rites read June 9 in Meeker
Memorial chapel, First Meth
odist church. The Rev. Ber
nard E. Andrews performed
the double ring ceremony.
About 60 guests attended.
The bride is a daughter of
Mrs. Dominick Issi. 3073
Delta Waters road, and the
late Mr. Issi. The bridegroom's
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wil
liam Neal, 2104 Roberts road.
George Smith, Sunbury, Pa
the bride's grandfather, gave
her in marriage.
Miss Teresa Mee was maid
of honor, and Miss Penny
Cantwell. Grants Pass, was
bridesmaid.
William Neal, San Francis
co, a brother of the bride
groom, served as best man,
and seating guests were Frank
Issi, a brother of the bride,
and Robert Neal, a brother of
the bridegroom.
Barbara Dellenback was
flower girl and Robert Lou
denberg. Nixon, N.J., a cousin
of the bride, was ring bearer.
Wears Lace
The bride chose a floor
length gown of Alencon type
lace over taffeta, designed
with a basque bodice and
trimmed with pearls and iri
descent sequins. Her bouffant
skirt was caught up in the
front and back by lace
roses, and the roses were re
peated at the hemline on both
sides of the skirt. Her elbow
length veil was of hand rolled
silk illusion held by a petal
lace crown with an inner
crown of pearls and Iridescent
crystals.
The bridal bouquet was of
stephanotis, carnations and
rosebuds centered with a
white orchid, on the bride's
Bible.
The bride's attendants wore
bell-skirted blue satin frocks
with fitted bodices and match
ing bow hats. They carried
nosegays of carnations.
The flower girl was dressed
in white organdy and her
wrist corsage was of white
carnations.
Mothers in Pink
For her daughter's wed
ding, Mrs. Issi wore pink voile
over taffeta with matching
hat and Mrs. Neal was dressed
in a pink silk sheath jacket
dress with white accessories.
Both had pink and white rose
bud corsages.
The chapel was decorated
with white peonies, stock and
roses and the pew ends were
marked with white bows and
ivy.
Mrs. Ona Lyles, Ashland,
furnished the wedding songs.
Also from out of town for
the wedding was Mrs. George
Smith, grandmother of the
bride.
The wedding reception
which followed was given by
Mr. and Mrs. John Dellenback
at their home, 257 Windsor
avenue. Mrs. Thomas Carter
poured coffee and Miss Diane
Carter presided at the punch
bowl. Miss Annette Carter cut
and served the cake while
Mrs. George Gilman register
ed the guests. Mrs. Joseph
Beach assisted with the serv
ing. For traveling, the bride
wore a black and white check
ed suit with box jacket, and
white accessories.
The couple is living at the
Mountain View apartments on
Garfield street In Ashland.
The bride is a graduate of
Medford High school and is
a student at Southern Oregon
college. The bridegroom, also
a student at the college, at
tended Crater High school,
and is employed at Timber
Products company.

Miss Doolen, Peter Kouidis
To Be Married Next Autumn
The engagement of Miss
Sue Donna Doolen, Eugene
to Paul Kouidis, also Eugene,
was announced Sunday by
her mother, Mrs. Horace M.
Doolen, 612 West Second
street, Medford, at a party
at the Doolen home.
Mr. Kouidis is a son of Mr.
and Mrs. Peter Kouidis of
Athens, Greece. A late fall
wedding is planned.
Miss Doolen is a graduate
of Medford High school and
Rice university, Houston,
Texas. For the past year she
has been a graduate assistant
in French at the University
of Oregon.
Mr. Kouidis attended the
University of West Virginia
and is a graduate of the Uni
versity of Oregon in mathe
matics. This fall he will do
advance study in mathematics
at San Jose State college, San
Jose, Calif.
Both are members at Pi
Delta Phi, French honorary
society.
Some 25 relatives and
friends attended the an

the bride's parents, Mr. and

Creek road, Talent. The Rev.
J. C. Arnett of the Assembly
of God church performed the
double ring ceremony. About
50 guests attended.
The bridegroom is a son of
Mrs. Irene Hale of Walters
Okla., and he had lived in
Jacksonville his entire life
until moving to Oklahoma
The bride was given in mar
riage by her father.
Miss Myrna Marumoto of
Hilo. Hawaii attended the
bride, and Kenneth Fletcher,
Medford. served as best man.
The brides gown was of
lace over taffeta and a crown
of seed pearls held her elbow
length veil. She carried a bou
quet of white carnations.

anist, furnished the wedding
music.
The reception was held In
the garden of the Good home.
The cake, decorated by Mrs.
Leon Lockwood, was cut by
her and assisting in the serv
ing were Mrs. Kenneth Ed
wards and Mrs. Donald
Greaves. Punch was served by
Mrs. Ole Skoog and Miss Ber-
nice Skoog poured coffee.
Miss Miml Jones registered
the guests, and in charge of
the gifts were the Misses Mar
garet Bolz, Dana Halaas and
Sharon Coffman.
For the wedding and recep
tion the bride's mother wore
a beige sheath dress with
white accessories. Her cor
sage was of orchids.
During the reception each
of the women who attended
was presented an orchid, gifts
of the maid of honor.
The couple made a wedding
trip to California. For travel
ing the bride wore a turquoise
sheath dress, with white ac
cessories. They will live in
San Diego, Calif., after Au
gust 1.
The bride la a student at
Southern Oregon college and
she attended Phoenix schools.
She has lived in the valley her
entire life.
The bridegroom Is a petty
officer in the Navy.
