nearly a year.
Lt. Cmdr. J. E. Kearney,
commander of the local Naval
and Marine Corps Reserve
Training Center, said the ship
was expected to return July
17.
It left Portland last October
for a tour of active duty with
the Seventh Fleet in the Far
East. Most of the crewmem
bers aboard the ship are from
Portland. The vessel was ac
tivated last fall.
