bert S. Elder, 91, of 3579 Ta
ble Rock rd., Medford, who
died Monday, will be held at
10 a.m. Thursday at Perl Fu
neral home. The Rev. Richard
Hadeen, pastor of the Breen
Baptist church, wiU officiate.
Interment will be in the Hart
ley cemetery at Williams, Ore.
Mr. Elder, the son of Lay
fette W. Elder and Barbara J.
Green, was born May 18,
1871. at Walla Walla, Wash.
Except for a few years that
he lived in California, he
lived most all of his life in
Oregon. For the past 13 years
he had lived in the Medford
area.
On Dec. 5. 1899, at Inde
pendence, Ore., he was mar
ried to Elzina A. Wilson, who
died July 26, 1935. On May
16, 1936, in Los Angeles,
Calif., he was married to Fan
ny Conway, who survives.
Other survivors include fix
sons, Newton W. Elder. Ala
meda, Calif., Jesse P. Fldcr,
Central Point, Evert J. Elder,
Benton, Wash., Gilbert S. Eld
er, Shady Cove; Dean W.
Elder, Shady Cove, Alfred R.
Elder, Oroville, Calif.-, one
daughter, Mrs. Gula E. Hedge
path, Madras. Ore.; 24 grand
children and 39 great grand
children. Pallbearers will be Delvan
Elder, Russell Elder, Elden
Elder, Donald Elder, Newton
Elder and Murray Waters.

EVERETT CROUCH
Hornbrook Everett Ellis
Crouch, 58, died in a Yreka
hospital Tuesday.
He was born in Pueblo,
Colo., May 16, 1904, and had
lived in Hornbrook for two
years. He moved to Siskiyou
county in 1934, later moving
to Los Angeles for 10 years
before living in Hornbrook.
Survivors include three
daughters, Mrs. Jacqueline J.
Dooley, Hornbrook, Mrs. Col
leen Babcock, Bieber, Calif.,
and Mrs. Ethel Beck, Redding,
Calif.; one son, Lee Crouch,
Kcnai, Alaska; and 11 grand
children. Funeral services have ten
tatively been set at 2 p.m.
Thursday, May 31, In the
Hornbrook Methodist church.
The Rev. Mario Magnus of
Hilts Community church will
officiate. Interment will be in
the Henley-Hornbrook cemetery.

Conger-Morris Funeral direc
tors in charge of arrange
ments. Mr. Doughty was born Nov.
27, 1904, in Natchez, Miss. He
was married May 30, 1925,
in San Luis Obispo, Calif., to
Edna Lee Nelson, who sur
vives. Other survivors include a
son, Raymond Doughty, San
Jose, Calif.; two daughters,
Mrs. Donavie Bewley, Med
ford; and Mrs. Beverley Gid-
dens, Santa Maria, Calif.; a
brother and two sisters in
Mississippi, and five grandchildren.

worth, Bennic Boren, Joe Rob
ertson. Edmund Hovey and
Irvin Turner.
