Oregon's winter-like spring
has gained national honors-of
a sort - for the third time in
little more than a week.
Klamath Falls recorded the
lowest official temperature in
the nation this morning - 24.
Last week Redmond had, the
lowest temperature two times.
Redmond's temp e r a t u r e

to 62 Sunday afternoon, drop
ped to 41 at night.
The weather forecast for to
night calls for more of the
same, with a possible 30 or
lower in Eastern Oregon at
Klamath Falls and about 4 de

During the week end snow
made chains necessary in Wil

Old Song Books Are
Sought by Home
The manager of a Medford
convalescent home is seeking
copies of o 1 d-time songs,
books of old songs and hym
nals. Mrs. Mildred Wilkins,
who operates Medford Con
valescent home, 120 Laurel
St., states that the elderly men
and women at the home have
a songfest almost every after
noon, and that it is one of
their main pleasures.
Mrs. Wilkins said that the
hymns, ballads and love songs
which the elderly people
knew and enjoyed as young
people are what they like the
most, and that copies of these
old compositions are difficult
to obtain.
