will be offered during the
1062 summer session at South
em Oregon college, June 18

of summer sessions, has an
nounced.
The workshop Is designed
primarily for Spanish teach
ers and mature students who
desire to study newer meth
ods and practice in foreign
language teaching and to
work on individual and group
problems as they relate to
Spanish teaching. Obscrva
tions and problems evolving
from the experience of t h e
group comprise a portion of
the workshop.
An introduction to the prin
ciples and practices underly
ing the audlolingual approach
to Spanish teaching Is made
through readings, films, and
analysis of the differences be
tween the sounds of Spanish
and English. An ability to
read Spanish Is the only pre
requisite for this workshop.
Those registering for gradu
ate credit will examine some
problems of teaching Spanish
in greater detail. Three hours
credit will be given.
