College Honor Roll
Salem - Lynn Hales and
Robert L. .Youngblood, both
of Medford, were among stu
dents receiving honor roll
grades at Willamette univer
sity during the fall semester,
according to Richard A. Yo
cum, registrar.
The two Medford students
were among those receiving
averages of 3.5 to 3.9. A total
of 35 students received 4.0
grade averages. Another 135
students received 3.5 or Bet
ter. Seniors placed 14 members
on the honor roll with perfect
grades. Seven juniors and
three each in the sophomore
and freshman classes and
eight students enrolled as spe
cial students received the 4.0
averages.

Smoke Investigation -
Smoke in a heating system was
investigated by Medford fire
men Saturday at 12:37 p.m.

rd., the residence of William
Young. There was no damage.
Hospitalized - Word has
been received that Owen An
drews, 4554 Fish Hatchery
rd., Wilderville, is ill in a
Portland hospital.
Fire Inspection - About 130
calls were made Friday by
Medford firemen as part of
their offer of free fire hazard
inspection for Medord resi
dents. Of the calls made, 58
residents were not at home,
six refused the offer and 66
homes were inspected. Of
these, 49 had no hazards,
while 19 recommendations for
removal of fire hazards were
made at the other homes.
